❤️♟️ When Game Night Didn’t Need Wi-Fi ♟️❤️

Before tablets, apps, and somebody yelling “What’s the password?”…
there was a table, a handful of game pieces, and some good old-fashioned competition.

This vintage Carrom game board has all the character we love — the warm aged wood, bold red-and-black graphics, built-in corner pockets, and just enough wear to prove that somebody actually played with it.
And THAT is what makes pieces like this so good.

Imagine the games that were played around this board. Kids sprawled across the floor. Grandparents teaching grandkids the rules. Somebody accusing somebody else of cheating. 😂 And inevitably one person insisting, “That does NOT count. Do it over!”

Today, it’s just as much a piece of Americana décor as it is a game board. Prop it on a shelf, hang it on a game-room wall, use it in a cabin or lake house, or put it back into service for a little old-school family competition.

A Little Piece of Simpler Times 🧡

There’s something so charming about this beautifully stitched Amish countryside scene. Horse-drawn wagons, tiny shops and everyday moments come together in a piece that feels peaceful, nostalgic, and wonderfully handmade.

Lovingly framed and ready for a new home, it’s one of those treasures that makes you stop for a moment and appreciate the time and care that went into every little stitch.

Some pieces are décor. Some pieces tell a story. This one does both. 🧵🧡

Yay!!! Now the weather needs to get with the program and cool off!

Amanda & I have been BUSY.

We moved it.
We rearranged it.
We styled it.

I may or may not have gotten into a fight with a rather large piece of furniture. 🤣

And somewhere along the way, Relics & Rust got a whole new look!

There are new treasures tucked EVERYWHERE — vintage pieces, fall finds, old crocks and pottery, artwork, furniture, baskets, quirky little things you didn't know you needed until you saw them… and quite a few things that deserve a second look. ❤️

And here's the thing about our booth:

You really have to LOOK.

Look up. Look down. Look behind things. Peek into baskets. Check the shelves. Because Amanda & I love tucking little treasures into every available corner. 😂

So come wander around, hunt for something you didn't know you were looking for, and see what catches your eye.

It's SHOP REFRESH DAY!!! And Amanda & I have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off — picking up, moving, rearranging and basically conquering the world. 🤣

Sometimes one of us gets to the shop before the other.

And sometimes one of us is a stubborn, hard-headed mule who just wants to get the big stuff moved so we can get to the FUN part.

So naturally, instead of waiting for Amanda, I decided I could move the giant turquoise baker's rack myself.

The baker's rack had other plans.

It bit me.

On the LEG.

There was blood. 🤣🤣🤣

Amanda understands me well enough to know that I have now given the baker's rack exactly ONE warning:

If it bites me again, it's going to Goodwill.

No discussion. No appeals process. No second chances.

So far today:
Shop refresh — underway.
Jill — slightly wounded.
Amanda — probably questioning her choice of business partner.
Baker's rack — on VERY thin ice.

Just another perfectly normal day at Relics & Rust. 🤣
