It's July 5th. Do you know what that means??

It's the official start of Halloween season!!! 🎃

I'm so excited for this year and have tons of new ideas! Time to rattle my bones and get building!!

Hands up mummy-man!! You are under....distress. Prepare to be...tea stained....with orange spice tea...because that's all I had. 😂

Doncha love last minute projects??? Happy Halloween Eve!!! 🎃

Stop by tonight and we'll put the fog on for ya.

The Kauldron doesn't seem fully "dressed" for the season until her facade is up.

It's funny how an idea I came up with on a whim 10 years ago has become such an integral part of my display. I was too scared to climb the ladder to do the whole house the first year, but each year of haunting has blessed me with new skills and helped me discover abilities I didn't know I had.

After 10 years though, the facade, which I made by laminating plastic scene setters to foam insulation panels with spray adhesive, is starting to show its age. It's faded from its original gray color to a blueish hue, which I personally like, but it's requiring more and more repairs every year (hint: I use Scotch packing tape, although I wish they made a wider, less shiny version. Hint hint 😉 ). I'm glad to have it up for at least one more year though. Maybe next year I'll make a new one?? 🤔

I say that every year BTW. Lol

Still working on setting up but getting closer. We'll be dark one more night. Because the facade isn't the only thing getting older. 😂

**UPDATE & WEATHER STATEMENT**

Ever have one of those weeks??

Well, we certainly are.

We were already running behind schedule for opening night tonight (you name it, it's happened this week) and now we have no power (yes, I paid the bill! Lol). ComEd is working on it and I'm sure it'll be back on soon, but it's delaying things further.

Also, with the upcoming stormy weather and high winds, certain props may be covered or unavailable this weekend.

So while the ghouls would love to see you, please understand we won't be running at 100% this weekend. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Here's hoping next week will be better.

Now, back to waking the dead....

"Rub-a-dub-dub, there's four ghosties in my tub!!" 🧼🫧

The ghouls took a bubble bath today so they can look their scary best.

The Kauldron will be lit starting October 17th! ✨️

I've always loved Halloween. 🎃

Making costumes and props. Decorating everything. And of course, all the candy! I loved the spookiness and magic of it. I never liked the scary parts though, because life can be pretty scary on its own.

But this year, I wanted to do more.

I've partnered up with several of my fellow Chicago Haunt Builders to raise funds for Skeletons for St. Jude. Because no bones about it, having cancer when you're a kid is scary enough.

You can donate by using the QR code on the sign or by clicking on the link in the comments.

Thank you & Happy Haunting!! 🧡
