Pot fillers: somehow one of the kitchen world’s most controversial details. This homeowner wanted one - and loves it. But it’s far from the only thing they love about this kitchen.

From the appliance selections to the custom cabinetry, every detail was carefully considered to make each nook and cranny as functional as it is beautiful.

A new build like this takes months and months of thoughtful planning, incredible attention to detail, and a clear vision from the very beginning. The best spaces don’t happen by accident.

The dining table and island anchor the area, the modern bobbin chairs compliment the Shaker-style cabinetry in the kitchen, creating a subtle connection between the two spaces.

Every room is part of the conversation - not designed in isolation, but thoughtfully connected to the home as a whole.

It’s been a while, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself. Hi, I’m Kathleen - the principal designer and owner of Curate Interiors.

I started Curate in 2022, building on a creative background that spans interiors, fashion, textiles, fine art, metalsmithing, ceramics, and painting. I’ve never met a creative medium I didn’t want to try.

All of those experiences shape the way I design. I don’t approach a home from a catalog. I pull inspiration from what I’ve studied, made, collected, and discovered through travel - from architecture and natural materials to the little details that make a home feel as though it has evolved over time.

Today, I bring that perspective to new builds, full renovations, and complete home redesigns. Beautiful matters, of course, but a home also needs to work for the people who actually live there.

If you’re considering a renovation, new build, or full-home redesign, I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.

Now booking projects for early 2027.

A bold color drench, a vintage portrait, a spindle chair, and new drapery that pools at the floor.

This room blends pieces the clients already owned with all the items we sourced - and you shouldn’t be able to tell which is which. It feels elevated, but still completely like them.

Everyone wants to know if AI changed how I design.

It changed how fast I research, how I complete and automate administrative tasks. It is a wonderful tool for efficiency. It has not changed how I judge, how I design a space, how I consider the unique lives and tastes of the humans who live there. AI can do a decent job at generic design - but it doesn’t have the ability to make deep connections with humans and their spaces. To integrate thoughtful, functional details and elevated design choices that are deeply personal. It is not able to achieve the intricate details of luxury interior design.

It can’t forge the relationships with builders and tradespeople that get built over years of working through real problems on site. It can assist in troubleshooting. It cannot be in the room.

Good taste is not a dataset. It is accumulated judgment, years of experience, and the ability to be human and connect with humans and to provide the highest level of service to my clients.
