I just don't know if I like this one or not. I was going for a furry moss background, but the yarn had a different idea 😁
The colors are a pretty contrast though, the shelf fungi is a soft gray and the base is a purple/white faux fur
Maybe this mushroom is just 🎵groovy 🕶

Long stem mushroom magnet! Isn't it cute?
I've noticed that I have a hard time using a patten, and I prefer free handing each little mushroom. After doing a hundred or so, they each have their own personality, but have a consistent style.

I'm just a tiny bit obsessed with shelf fungi. I look through pinterest and Google images to get ideas for colors and shapes. These are done free hand, and I think I need to hunker down and write the patten I am to be using.

We love our creepy crawly friends

Did you know today is Serpent Day? As we recognize and celebrate our scaley friends today, we want to show you one of our youngest patients, a tiny baby Eastern Ratsnake who we hatched out of an egg! Her and her siblings all came to us this way after their nest was disturbed. Snakes are super important for the ecosystem and help keep pests in check. Only about 1/8 of snakes worldwide are venomous, and snake venom is being researched to develop new medicines and treatments for ailments like cancer, arthritis, and more!

I ADORE this yarn for making shelf fungi. The slight color changes give it a natural feel, and is so hard to capture the color in the photos.
