Stars, Stripes, and Salvage
Welcome back on this Memorial Day Monday for Stacie’s Vintage Ventures at Camp Gilmore! 🇺🇸
Today I’m sharing a fun and easy parade flag holder DIY to use as a centerpiece, porch accent, or patriotic table display all summer long. All you need are a few architectural pieces (vintage or new ), some plastic or metal federal eagle flag pole toppers, and a drill!
I had some vintage wooden spools on hand and mixed them with simple salvage pieces I picked up at Scott’s Antique Market a few weeks ago. I especially love the ornate antique parade flag holders that can sell for hundreds and sometimes even thousands of dollars. They were originally used to display and store flags after parades, and the small flags fit perfectly in them.
These add such a nostalgic Americana touch and make a big impact for all the American Summer 250 celebrations ahead! 🇺🇸
Whether you use true vintage finds or newer architectural salvage pieces, they are simple to make and look so charming grouped together.
❤️🤍💙

Happy Monday and welcome to Stacie’s Vintage Ventures at Camp Gilmore. I was able to get away for a bit this weekend to Scott’s Antique Market in Atlanta! If you love the thrill of the hunt, this place never disappoints. I came home with some treasures today including a wax paper Canadian goose decoy, the coolest bicentennial tray that is going to be perfect for all the America 250 celebrations this July, and a pile of old wood pieces for a future project that I already have brewing in my head.
One of my favorite parts of Scott’s is always the South Hall. It has the junkier antiques, salvage pieces, chipped paint, rusty metal, and hardware that I love. The booths with perfectly polished things are fun, but the South Hall feels like digging through history and spotting the really unique finds!
I came home trying to decide where this goose is going to live and how many hot dogs and I can serve on this bicentennial tray this summer at Potluck Cabin🇺🇸🪿

We had such an amazing and fun day at our Vintage Gathering at Violas Garden Market on Saturday! Guests came from all over the Midwest to join us in historic Yankton, South Dakota at our host, Tesa’s amazing shop. We enjoyed nibbling from gorgeous charcuterie boards from Lisa and gobbled down delicious and darling cookies from Alex 💕
Every guest went home with a swag bag filled with magazines as well as thoughtful gifts from Carrie Debbie Lily and ! ❤️
We thoroughly enjoyed Debbie’s presentation on cloche, wreath and bucket styling as well as Tesa’s sharing about her journey as a vintage business owner for the past 30 years!
None of it would’ve been possible without Tesa and her amazing crew (Debbie, Carrie and Ed) who cleaned and styled the shop, greenhouse and front deck for everyone to enjoy -they spent days getting ready and it showed! Ed is a hero among men schlepping, hauling, hanging stuff and doing it all with a smile! Thank you to these hard workers everyone was impressed and found treasures to take home, too. And a huge thank you to all of our guests! It was wonderful to spend time with such kind, lovely, creative people. You made the day memorable!
If you couldn’t make it to this event, worry not, we have more coming up! Stay tuned here for more information. ❤️

Welcome back Flea Market Decor Friends to Stacie’s Vintage Ventures with our 2026 Brand Ambassador, ❤️

The weather has been gorgeous here in Alabama the past few weeks, getting everyone in the mood for summer. Today, I’m sharing with you some of my painted paddles and encouraging you to find paddles at the thrift store, yard sales, and flea markets for this fun and easy DIY. You only need a few materials that you probably already have on hand! You can quickly create some vibrant, fun decor! I display these on my mantle and also in buckets by the fireplace at potluck cabin. I have one hanging outside my back door- you can add house numbers as well. The cool part is you can use any colors to match your decor and add a little instant summer nostalgia to your place on a budget! I loved these so much that I found little small paddle ornaments at Christmas one year and painted them in similar Camp stripes and patterns! I hope you will try this out and have a great rest of your week! Check out stories for the video!
