**UPDATE: ROCK FOUND**

Rock #6 is hiding in Marion County!

If you haven't found one of our expertly crafted, locally hidden wrapped rocks yet, you've got one more chance! Our 6th rock is the final of the "season", but thankfully doesn't mark the end of our art scavenger hunts. So, keep an eye out for future hidden art announcements....we want you to have more opportunities to connect with the land and uncover art!

One of our shop artists, Mary Hall, has brought these unique handcrafted woven rocks to the Ozarks, and we're hiding them for you to find. 🌿

Based on the traditional Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, these woven rocks represent the beauty in impermanence, modesty, and the natural cycle of growth and decay. Mary’s as generous as she is talented, and she’s crafted and donated a few wrapped rocks for Lucky Star Handmade to offer to the community in the way of a scavenger hunt.

The best part is- FINDERS KEEPERS! Stop by Lucky Star Handmade with your found woven rock for an additional congratulatory gift. We’ll reveal a clue every Friday until it’s been located, so make sure you check in with us on Facebook and Instagram. Who knows…maybe you’ll discover another local gem on your hunt for this treasure!

Our very first Monthly Stitching Meet-Up in August was a great success, and we're gearing up for our second tomorrow, September 3rd, from 10:00am-12:00pm. There will be no shortage of great stitching minds and great human beings to support you. Come with a project in mind or to be inspired!

Thanks to everyone who has donated machines for us to keep growing this space for the community! We're still looking for a couple more machines in good working condition, so call the shop at (870) 449-6109 if you feel moved to make a donation 💕.

Lucky Star Handmade is thrilled—and deeply grateful—to be one of only 15 organizations selected to receive a Heartland Craft Guilds: Capacity Support Grant from the Mid-America Arts Alliance!

This grant provides unrestricted operating support to organizations that serve artists, makers, culture bearers, and heritage keepers. It recognizes the important role these organizations play in preserving traditional and cultural craft practices, sharing community knowledge, and keeping hands-on making alive. Throughout the coming year, we will participate in individual and group coaching, workshops, peer networking, and technical assistance designed to strengthen our leadership, operations, and long-term sustainability.

Mid-America Arts Alliance serves artists and cultural organizations throughout Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. We are honored to be one of just three Arkansas organizations selected—and proud to see Lucky Star Handmade and Yellville represented among such an inspiring group.

We are incredibly thankful to Mid-America Arts Alliance and the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation, whose support made this program possible. We are also grateful to our artists, volunteers, board members, supporters, and community. You have helped build Lucky Star Handmade into a place where creativity is encouraged, traditional skills are valued, artists are supported, and people come together.

This grant will help us continue building—not just for the coming year, but for the future. We are excited, grateful, and ready to learn!

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARON 🎉

Sharon has been with Handmade from the start...in fact, she was there when it was just an idea, then when it was just a building in need of renovation, and then continuing on throughout its entire journey thus far! Sharon helped found this spark of art in the Ozarks and has worked to shape this shop with her spirit, creativity, and hands. All as a volunteer!

She's one of our extraordinarily talented fiber artists in the shop, and if you haven't added one of her creations to your home, make her birthday month the time.

If you see her around town, give her all the birthday wishes. We couldn't do it without you, Sharon!

What a concert last Friday! Carrie Welling enchanted us with her singing, songwriting and humor. Her stories set the stage for the songs to come and delighted the full house audience. She also found numerous ways to insert Yellville into her songs. We were blessed to have such a gem in our Listening Room at Lucky Star Handmade.

The Art Odyssey is less than a month away, and we're thrilled to support several of our shop artists who are opening up their studio spaces to you all!

The tour is an opportunity to visit with local artists inside their studios as they open their doors and showcase their work. Experience the workspaces where creativity thrives, and stop by Lucky Star Handmade to shop over 70 Ozark artist's work while you're at it!

The Art Odyssey runs from Thursday September 24-Saturday September 26 from 10:00-4:00pm. Mark your calendars for the art tour, and stop by the shop to see work by featured artists and more!

A FREE EVENT one week from today! Friday, September 4th from 4:30-6pm at Lucky Star Handmade promises stunning art, lively conversation, and light refreshments & beverages. Come mingle with your fellow community art-lovers and meet the artist behind these gorgeous pieces (and many more).

We're presenting our first ever gallery exhibition, and we'd love for you to join us for an opening reception! "Objects of Affection" will feature a collection of local artist Julie Dekker's work.

Drawn to realism and still life, Julie creates carefully observed paintings layered with luminous color and meticulous detail. Her work has appeared in national and international exhibitions and is held in private and corporate collections. She's a valued artist, volunteer, and friend here at Lucky Star Handmade.
