Sorry I've been a little quiet lately. The end of the school year has kept us running in every direction.
Field days and dance recitals and the ever looming threat of my oldest needing braces 😅

Sooooo here is a little peek at my workstation as I get ready to start painting in my new favorite way. A little planning, a lot of flowers, and a bit of trust the process

Keep an eye out for the finished artwork soon..maybe...who knows really, I definitely don't 😂😂

Guess who's next....(This one is going to be cute I promise 😅)

A crime has occurred. 😭

My 8-year-old fellow weirdo decided she needed this for her wall and honestly, who am I to stand in the way of her crazy dreams?

The hardest part wasn't making it....it was convincing my millennial brain that it was okay to cut up a Beanie Baby 😅😅

Plaque painted by little Miss Char. 🩶

Beanie Baby generously donated by a very proud Papa who may shake his head at our shenanigans, but is always willing to help bring them to life.

And a special thank you to Buzz Inn Steakhouse for stocking a completely random claw machine full of what are apparently my newest art supplies.

It takes a village to create questionable masterpieces.

“Mom! I have a great idea!”

Me: “Alright kid, I’m listening.”

And somehow that’s how this moose ended up becoming art 😅

Current work in progress dreamed up by my 8-year-old assistant and fully enabled by me.

Update!

A few turned out beautifully, a few completely fell apart the second I touched them.

I’m still figuring out the sweet spot for drying them, but even the broken pieces feel too beautiful to throw away.

There’s something really magical about seeing all the colors and textures hold on after the flower is gone.

Now I can just let the creative process flow and see what they become 🩶

The waiting is the hardest part 🩶

Experimenting with Silica drying, finding the sweet spot time wise had been tricky but dusting them off and seeing how they did is so magical

I found a treasure today.

A tiny little time capsule that somehow survived untouched all these years. It feels almost illegal to take it apart, but the weird little ideas are already flying through my brain

Just wait until you see what it turns into 🩶🩶

Meet the Artist behind The Crow's Hook 🩶

Hi, I’m Megan!
I am a grown up emo kid turned spooky mom, nature collector, and creator of strange little things.

I’m inspired by ghost stories, forests, forgotten trinkets, preserved nature, and the kind of whimsy that feels a little haunted in the best way.

Most of my art starts as a random idea my brain refuses to let go of until I make it real, whether that’s tiny ghost paintings, preserved wishes, oddities, or whatever chaotic project I’ve hyper-fixated on this week 😂

(I mean you can only do so many landscapes before you need to add an adventuring ghosty friend to enjoy all those sights)

I’m married to my best friend, who I randomly met at a rave 18 years ago. Somehow he not only puts up with the absolute chaos that is my brain, but genuinely encourages it. He’s the first person I tell when I get a new wild idea, and instead of questioning it, he immediately asks how he can help make it happen.

Together we’re raising two amazing daughters in a house full of creativity, weird little projects, nature treasures, and plenty of gremlin energy.

I’ve been slowly giving myself the time and space to relearn all the little artsy parts of myself after spending far too many years believing I didn’t have the mental capacity for creativity anymore.

Life got really heavy for a long time, and somewhere in all of it I stopped letting myself create just for the joy of it.

Now I’m learning how to welcome that whimsy back again, to make things simply because they make me happy, to follow all those strange little ideas, and to let myself feel creative without guilt 🩶

This little corner of the internet is where all of my cozy, spooky creativity gets to live, and I’m so thankful for everyone who follows along and supports it 🩶

I just dropped off a fresh batch of Forever Wishes at Karvada's Cauldron Shoppe
It never hurts to keep a little wish tucked away, just in case....

I can’t even begin to say how lucky I am to have a husband whose first response to “Hey, I have an amazing idea!” is always “How can I help?”Even when it turns into hanging strings of dandelions so I can preserve them for my art 🩶

And because of that support, I’ll have some truly special new pieces dropping off soon.

These preserved wishes (dandelions) are fragile, real, and full of quiet magic
More details and new items coming very soon 🩶
