A beautiful piece of furniture can be completely wrong for a room if you can’t comfortably move around it.
Before I start thinking about what goes in a space, I’m thinking about how you’ll actually live in it. Where do you naturally walk? Can the doors open? Can someone pull out a chair without blocking the room? Does the furniture encourage conversation? Does everything feel connected?
Those details may not be the exciting part of furniture shopping, but they’re often what separates a room that simply looks good from one that truly works well.
Good design isn’t just about filling a room with beautiful things. It’s about giving those things, and the people who live there, room to breathe.

Fall has a way of bringing us back home.
Back to slower mornings in the kitchen, dinners that linger a little longer, weekends spent gathered together, and the everyday routines that suddenly feel a little cozier.
It’s one of the reasons I believe good design is about so much more than creating a beautiful space. It’s about thinking through how you’ll actually live there... where people will gather, how the room will flow, and the little details that make everyday life feel easier and more comfortable.
Because the best homes aren’t just designed to be looked at.
They’re designed to be lived in, gathered in, and loved through every season.

What makes a home feel warm? It’s not one particular style, color palette, or finish, it’s the layers.
Across every home I design, I’m looking for opportunities to bring in warmth through natural materials, texture, thoughtful color, lighting, timeless finishes, and the personal details that make a space feel lived in.
Those choices may look completely different from one home to the next, and they should. Your home should reflect you, not a formula.
The goal is always the same: to create spaces that feel welcoming, comfortable, intentional, and beautiful enough to love for years to come.
Because warmth isn’t something you can choose from a catalog. It’s something you create, layer by layer.

When I walk into a space for the first time, I’m rarely thinking about what I would put in it first.

I’m looking at what’s already there.

Where does your eye naturally go?
How do you move from one area to another?
Where does the room feel cramped, or completely underused?
What architectural details are worth highlighting?
And most importantly, how does this space need to work for the people who actually live here?

Sometimes the answer is a renovation. Sometimes it’s rethinking the layout, adding storage, changing the lighting, or making one small design decision that completely shifts how the room feels.

That’s one of my favorite parts of what I do... seeing not only what a space is, but what it could be.

A beautiful home doesn’t begin with a paint color, a wallpaper sample, or the perfect fixture.

It begins with a vision for how you want your home to feel.

From there, the process is about bringing all of the pieces together... color, pattern, materials, function and those unexpected details that give a space personality.

The goal isn’t to create a home that looks like everyone else’s. It’s to make thoughtful choices that feel cohesive, intentional, and unmistakably yours.

That’s where the design happens.

A beautiful space doesn’t start with picking paint colors or finding the perfect light fixture. It starts with understanding you.

How your family lives. What isn’t working. What you love. What you need more of. And ultimately, how you want your home to feel.

From there, we take all of those ideas, decisions, selections, and details that can feel overwhelming and turn them into a clear, thoughtful plan, then help carry that plan all the way through.

Working with a designer isn’t about handing over your home. It’s about having someone beside you who knows how to turn your vision into a space that truly works for your life.

Clear process. Beautiful results. A home that still feels completely like you!

Not every room in your home is meant to make a grand first impression.

Some are simply meant to make life work better.

The laundry room that makes an endless chore a little easier. The mudroom that catches the shoes, backpacks and everyday chaos. The hallway that connects one part of your day to the next. The guest bath that makes someone feel welcomed. The tucked-away storage that gives everything a place to land.

These are the rooms between the rooms and I believe they deserve just as much thought as the kitchen, living room or primary suite.

Because good design isn’t only about the spaces everyone sees.

It’s about creating a home that supports you in all the little moments that happen in between. 🤍

The rooms that work the hardest often get the least attention.

Mudrooms, laundry rooms, drop zones, pantries... these are the spaces catching the shoes, backpacks, laundry, groceries, sports gear and everything else that comes with everyday family life.

And when they aren’t designed well? You feel it!

Thoughtful design considers who is using the space, what needs to happen there, what needs a home, and how the room can make daily routines just a little easier.

Because these spaces don’t need to simply look beautiful. They need to keep up with your family.

When every hook, cabinet, drawer and drop zone has a purpose, even the busiest parts of home can feel a little less chaotic.

Good design isn’t reserved for the rooms guests see. It belongs in the rooms that make everyday life work.
