Got the test print of my black rhinoceros today and I’m really happy with how it turned out. Just a few minor adjustments left, then it’s ready to move into production.

Hi everyone,

As some of you may already know, DeCLAY Studio has always been a two person team.

My name is Duy, the founder of the studio. I mainly focus on sculpting and painting our dinosaur line as well as several prehistoric mammals. My friend Hai Nguyen has been the sculptor and painter behind our well known elephant and rhino line, along with several other prehistoric mammals.

After almost four years of working side by side, Hai has decided to open his own studio and begin a new independent journey. I fully support him in this decision and I am genuinely happy to see him grow and pursue his own direction. Our relationship remains as strong as ever. This is simply a new chapter for both of us.

We will still attend festivals together, and we are currently working on several collaboration projects that I hope to share with you soon.

For the time being, his new releases will still be available through our store, so you can continue to purchase them as usual while he establishes his new studio ZoaTusker

Thank you all for your continued support over the years. It truly means a lot to both of us, and we look forward to sharing many more projects with you in the future.

Best regards,
Duy

Giganotosaurus carolinii. I’m really happy to have permission to share this commission I made for a private collector.

It will be produced as a 1/10 scale bronze statue, with the full scene reaching up to 1.6 meters long. I honestly don’t know how they’ll pull it off at that size, but I can’t wait to see the final result.

This piece took me a long time to finish and I learned a lot along the way. Big thanks to the collector for the trust and patience.

I’m very proud of how it turned out. More photos coming when the final product is ready 😊😊

I recently read about a mutant black rhino in the Masai Mara with three horns. The subject fascinated me so much that I had to sit down and start working on it right away. What an amazing creature. I hope that one day I might be lucky enough to witness something like this with my own eyes.

A speculative reconstruction of a G. libratus individual surviving a severe lower jaw injury, inspired by modern crocodiles.
Whether a warm-blooded theropod could survive this is unknown.
My concept is based on face-biting and territorial fighting behavior seen in large theropods.

If you have any insights or comments, feel free to share. I’d be happy to hear them.
