Anyone who has assembled a Book Nook model, can you help confirm if this is true? Our models are so detailed that each individual building, if taken out and placed on its own, is already beautiful enough to stand as a complete piece on its own.

Hôm nay tụi mình nhận được môt feedback từ khách hàng nước ngoài mà khiến team phải suy nghĩ, nhìn nhận lại sản phẩm của mình dưới một góc độ khác. Khác với khách hàng ở Việt Nam đa phần là các bạn trẻ hoặc các bậc phụ huynh mua tặng cho con cháu. Ở nước ngoài, 70-80% khách hàng của Book Nook lại là những ông bà từ 60 - 70 thajam chí là 80, 90 tuổi. Văn hóa phương tây cũng khác Việt Nam mình khi người già đa phần sẽ sống với nhau chứ không sống cùng con cháu. Họ sử dụng book nook như một món giải trí đồng thời là quà tặng cho người trẻ mỗi khi sum họ gia đình (giáng sinh, ngày đặc biệt...). "Please be real. As a widower of five years. At night, when I get lonely and still I build these little book nooks, to help me deal with loneliness. When the first ones I ever did was one of years, and I did not recognize it till tonight.

One of the things that I love about that kit is when I place the kitty cat and its place. If you look just right in the mirror you can see the kitty cat kaboos.. and can tell that the cat is male. Everyone that sees it starts laughing.

[ENGLISH BELOW] - Dự án đang phát triển: Đà Nẵng Thành phố Tứ Linh.

Nhắc tới Đà Nẵng là nhắc tới trung tâm kinh tế/du lịch của miền Trung Việt Nam, nhắc tới bờ biển đẹp bậc nhất Việt Nam nắng ấm quanh năm, nhắc tới những công trình biểu tượng như Cầu Rồng qua sống Hàn, cầu Vàng, cầu Tình Yêu... Nhưng liệu bạn có biết câu chuyện về quy hoạch "Tứ Linh" của Đà Nẵng chưa?

Cầu Rồng vươn mình qua sông Hàn, không chỉ là một cây cầu mà như một biểu tượng sống của thành phố. Cung thể thao Tiên Sơn với dáng tròn vững chãi, gợi liên tưởng đến hình ảnh Rùa — bền bỉ và ổn định. Phượng hoàng từng được nhắc đến qua Nhà thi đấu – biểu diễn đa năng, một công trình mang dáng dấp cánh chim vươn lên, nhưng đáng tiếc đã bị phá dỡ từ năm 2022, như một dấu mốc cho sự thay đổi của thành phố.

Còn Kỳ Lân — có lẽ là phần thú vị nhất — không gắn với một công trình cụ thể nào. Nó giống như một “lớp ẩn” của Đà Nẵng, nằm trong nhịp sống, trong sự phát triển cân bằng mà bạn có thể cảm nhận nhưng khó gọi tên.

In Development: Da Nang – The City of Four Sacred Creatures

When people talk about Da Nang, they often think of a modern coastal city — beaches, sunshine, and iconic landmarks like the Dragon Bridge, the Golden Bridge, or the Love Bridge.

But beneath that modern image, there’s another way to see the city — through the lens of the Four Sacred Creatures.

Da Nang – The City of Four Sacred Creatures: Dragon, Qilin, Turtle, Phoenix.

The Dragon (Long) is the clearest symbol — embodied by Dragon Bridge crossing the Han River, a powerful and unmistakable icon of the city.

The Turtle (Quy) is often associated with Tiên Sơn Sports Palace, with its grounded, rounded form — a symbol of stability and endurance.

The Phoenix (Phụng) is linked to the multi-purpose performance arena, whose rising, wing-like architecture evokes the image of a phoenix in flight — representing renewal and transformation.

The Qilin (Lân), interestingly, is the most abstract of the four. Some associate it with Hòa Xuân Stadium, others with the Da Nang Exhibition Center, but there isn’t a single officially defined structure that represents it. In a way, that makes the Qilin feel more like a hidden layer of the city — a symbol of prosperity and harmony that exists not in one place, but across the whole urban spirit.

Together, these four elements create a different way of looking at Da Nang — not just as a modern city, but as a place where symbolism and urban design quietly intertwine.

And that’s the story we’re trying to capture — not just what you see, but what you feel behind it.

[ENGLISH BELOW] - It takes time, but it's worth it.

Đối với một thương hiệu từ năm 2019 (tới nay đã 7 năm) thì có vẻ như Book Nook hơi... ít mẫu mã thì phải. Tính ra trung bình mỗi năm Book Nook chỉ cho ra mắt 2-3 sản phẩm, khá ít so với các thương hiệu khác. Tuy nhiên nếu bạn đã từng trải nghiệm và đặt các mô hình của Book Nook cạnh các sản phẩm của các thương hiệu Trung Quốc thì sẽ thấy một điểm khác biệt lớn: Từng bộ phận của mô hình Book Nook được thiết kế chi tiết hơn rất nhiều. Chi tiết đến mức tách riêng một khối nhà bất kỳ trong mô hình ra cũng đã đủ đẹp và chi tiết để trở thành một sản phẩm riêng.

Mức độ chi tiết cao đồng nghĩa với việc thời gian thiết kế lâu hơn nhưng mang lại trải nghiệm lắp ráp/sử dụng tốt hơn hẳn. Người lắp ráp mô hình sẽ được trải nghiệm quá trình lắp ráp thú vị hơn và liên tục hoàn thành các "tác phẩm nhỏ" trước khi hoàn thiện toàn bộ mô hình. Còn nếu bạn là người chiêm ngưỡng mà không phải là người tự tay lắp ráp nên chúng, việc "khám phá" từng ngóc ngách của mô hình cũng sẽ là một trải nghiệm lý thú và cần một khoảng thời gian dài để bạn tìm được hết những điểm độc đáo trong bộ mô hình.

Mỗi mô hình của Book Nook thường cần tới 4-5 tháng thậm chí 9 tháng tới một năm để hoàn thành từ khâu ý tưởng. Bạn có thấy thời gian thiết kế lâu như vậy mang lại hiệu quả xứng đáng không?

For a brand that started in 2019 (now entering its 7th year), Book Nook might seem a bit… limited in terms of product variety. On average, we release only 2–3 new designs per year — which is quite modest compared to many other brands.

But if you’ve ever experienced our models and placed them side by side with products from other brands, you’ll likely notice one clear difference: every single component in a Book Nook model is designed with a much higher level of detail. So detailed, in fact, that if you take any single building out of the scene, it could easily stand on its own as a complete miniature piece.

This level of detail naturally means longer design time — but it also creates a much richer building and viewing experience. As you assemble, you’re not just putting pieces together; you’re constantly completing small “mini artworks” along the way. And even if you’re not the one building it, exploring every corner of the finished model becomes a journey in itself — one that takes time to fully appreciate all the little hidden details.

Each Book Nook model typically takes 4–5 months, sometimes even up to 9 months or a year, to go from concept to completion.

Nhắc tới Sài Gòn là phải nhắc tới chợ.
Mà nhắc tới chợ… thì không thể thiếu Chợ Bến Thành và Chợ Bình Tây 😆

Một bên thì đông vui “hết công suất”, khách du lịch – người địa phương chen nhau mua sắm, ăn uống, mặc cả.
Một bên thì chill hơn, cổ hơn, đi một vòng là auto thấy… mình sống chậm lại hẳn.

Book Nook tụi mình không làm Sài Gòn hào nhoáng đâu, mà chọn giữ lại mấy góc “rất đời”:
quầy hàng nhỏ xíu, bảng hiệu cũ cũ, xe đẩy, ánh đèn vàng…
Nhìn vào là kiểu: “Ủa, sao thấy quen quen vậy ta?”

Đây không chỉ là mô hình.
Đây là một góc Sài Gòn thu nhỏ — để trên kệ, nhưng cảm giác như vẫn đang ở đó.

Book Nook chọn khắc họa một Sài Gòn xưa cũ...

Nhắc tới Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh (tên cũ Sài Gòn) là nhắc tới đầu tàu kinh tế, nhắc tới thành phố hiện đại, giàu có và sầm uất nhất của Việt Nam. Biểu tượng của Sài Gòn thời của chúng ta là tòa nhà Bitexco, Landmark 81, đường Nguyễn Huệ...những con phố tấp nập người và xe với hai bên đường là quán xá với thương hiệu nổi tiếng.

Trong dòng thời gian đang dần nhường chỗ cho những hình ảnh hiện đại, ở đâu đó Sài Gòn vẫn còn những con hẻm mang dáng dấp của một Sài Gòn xưa cũ với cửa xếp, với quán ăn vỉa hè, với xích lô, với xe đạp, với những chiếc xe gắn máy đời cũ và những khẩu hiệu bảo vệ môi trường... Sẽ sớm thôi những hình ảnh như vậy sẽ dần bị thay thế bởi những thứ hiện đại và Book Nook chọn lưu lại những hình ảnh Sài Gòn xưa trước khi chúng hoàn toàn biến mất.

Book Nook chose to capture an old Saigon…

When people talk about Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), they often think of Vietnam’s economic engine — a modern, wealthy, and vibrant metropolis. The symbols of today’s Saigon are Bitexco Tower, Landmark 81, Nguyen Hue Walking Street… bustling avenues filled with people and traffic, lined with well-known brands and bright storefronts.

But as time slowly gives way to a more modern skyline, somewhere in the city, Saigon still holds onto its quieter corners — narrow alleyways that carry the spirit of an older time. Folding metal doors, street-side food stalls, cyclo rides, bicycles, old motorbikes, and faded environmental slogans on the walls…

It won’t be long before these scenes are gradually replaced by something newer.

And so, Book Nook chose to preserve a piece of old Saigon — before it quietly disappears.
