I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my relationships with the women in my life. I’ve really been focused on what qualities I love in my best friends, and evaluating myself to make sure that I am giving my friends all the best qualities that I love in the women that surround me. For me, it’s a constant work in progress.
To those women that have shown me unconditional love and constant friendship, thank you! I love you. I cherish you. I learn from you every single day!
I recently came across the story of the sisterhood of the elephants, and I knew I had to make these for my best girlfriends! Here is the story:
Female elephants form deep, lifelong bonds, creating a powerful social structure known as a matriarchy. They surround themselves with “girlfriends” - fellow female elephants that they can rely on, particularly when resources are scarce. They cooperate in raising young, offering collective protection, and nurturing. They continuously protect one another from predators, and stay close and surround those who are vulnerable when danger is close. This remarkable sisterhood ensures the survival and wellbeing of future generations, showcasing the incredible strength and social complexity of these magnificent creatures.
By comparison, our human sisterhood is much like that of the elephant. We rally around each other - especially when times are tough - and remain closely bonded, whether near or far.
Always remember your sister elephants. Reach out to them with a spirit of support and love. You never know who needs a word of encouragement. ❤️🐘
