Romanian food is near and dear to my heart, and our trip to visit the Bucovina region is the perfect opportunity for me to try delicious regional dishes. Today's three-course lunch (and dinner, let's be honest) featured:

1️⃣ Borscht with forest mushrooms (including porcini!), Bucovina-style with cream

2️⃣ Sarmale stuffed cabbage leaves with mămăligă, pickled peppers, and a grilled cutlet
3️⃣ Cheese baked crepes with cream sauce

The meal absolutely hit the spot, and went perfectly with a glass of Romanian wine 🍷

During our trip to Ireland earlier this month, we enjoyed a different sort of full Irish breakfast: cheeses, tomatoes, and bread, 100% made in Ireland. This was the perfect breakfast to start off our day exploring County Donegal's wild beauty.

Since the Bake of the Year is one of my favorite breads, I decided it would be my first Sunday Bake of the year. Big, Bubbly Foccacia: Pillowy, crunchy, delicious, and no overnight proof necessary.

I omitted the flaked salt on top and still found it a bit salty for my personal taste, but that's easy enough to dial back. I can't wait to try this with some mix-ins 😋

Popping on here to share a quick tip to keep your cut fresh herbs in good shape ahead of big holiday meals: tear a paper towel into pieces and tuck a piece intoeach plastic container. It will help absorb moisture and prevent those spendy herbs from rotting before you can use them. You can do the same with parsley - just make sure you blot off extra water before stashing it in a bag.
