Remembering the day spent at Arborica in Petaluma for an AIA event, exploring their collection of salvaged wood and materials.

It was a great opportunity to see the inventory up close, learn more about their woodworking process, and talk with other designers about the possibilities for these materials in landscape and architectural projects.

Pizza ovens have come a long way. Whether you prefer a built-in statement piece or a portable countertop model, there’s an option to suit almost any outdoor space.

The best choice isn’t just about looks. Think about how often you’ll use it, how much space you have, and the role you want it to play in your backyard. The design should support the way you actually live and entertain.

Archive No. 001: Bloc Seat, a collection of some process work, how we designed a chair out of reclaimed redwood for a clients backyard.

It starts with imagery to get a sense of the overall look and feel. We then move it into a quick concept sketch to get the proportions feeling right. Once that’s done this moved into shop drawings noting the dimensions, angles and additional building notes.

The final result is a beautiful redwood chair. Wish we got a picture of someone using it.
