This Antique Shahsavan Mafrash Soumak Panel is from Southern Caucasus. Lovely range of all natural colors with some cotton highlights and pattern outlines. Good original condition without any repairs.
19th century – circa 1875.
40″ x 17″ – 100 x 42 cm.

SOLD This Rare and Fine Antique Turkmen Tekke Nine Guls Torba is from Turkmenistan, Central Asia. The border is seen in early Tekke Turkmen Torbas and is known as Pekam border. There are several examples published in the Hoffmeister book dated to the 18th century. This example could very well be from that period but I would like to be conservative and date it to circa 1800 or early 1800s. Top quality wool and super fine weave along with wonderful saturated natural dyes.

This Fine Caucasian Shahsavan Soumak Bag Panel is from Southern Caucasus, Azerbaijan. Front Panel of a Mafrash Bedding Bag with tightly packed weave and great range of all natural colors. Comes in very good condition, well preserved. 19th century – circa 1875-80. 36″ x 19″ – 92 x 48 cm.

SOLD This Fine Caucasian Shahsavan Reverse Soumak Bagface is from Southern Caucasus. Tightly woven using top quality silky smooth wool dyed with deep saturated all natural colors. Offered as found – no repairs done. 19th century – circa 1870. 23″ x 17″ – 60 x 43 cm.
