🇮🇹 My Bruschetta.
The correct Italian pronunciation is "broo-SKEH-tah" (with a hard "K" sound).

It originated in Central Italy, particularly in the regions of Lazio, Tuscany, Umbria, and Abruzzo, where farmers traditionally toasted stale bread 🍞 over hot coals and dressed it with freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and a pinch of salt.

The name comes from the Roman dialect verb “bruscare”, meaning “to roast” or “to toast over embers.”

The earliest version was very simple:

🥖 Rustic toasted bread
🧄 Garlic rubbed over the surface
🫒 Extra virgin olive oil
🧂 A pinch of salt

🍅 The tomatoes commonly associated with bruschetta today are a more recent addition.

In Tuscany, a very similar preparation called fettunta has long been enjoyed, traditionally made during the olive harvest 🫒 to taste the new season’s olive oil.

Although its roots lie in Central Italy, bruschetta is enjoyed throughout Italy (Venice included) and loved worldwide.

🇮🇹 A little taste of Italy… with nostalgia.

Yesterday I was thinking about the pizzette I used to buy from local Panificio in Italy for my son and me. They were our favourite merenda (afternoon snack) 🤩 simple, fragrant, and full of authentic Italian flavour.

The memory stayed with me, so I decided to make them myself.

The aroma filling the house brought me straight back to Italy. Freshly baked dough, rich tomato, and that unmistakable bakery smell. Prince enjoyed four in a row and happily packed more for today’s lunchbox!

Moments like these remind me that food is so much more than a meal. It’s memories, traditions, family, and a connection to where we come from.

Needless to say, these little pizzette will be making another appearance very soon. ❤️🍅🇮🇹

🇮🇹 Ragù

There’s a whole world behind this simple word.

My world is simple: quality beef mince (not too lean – we need a little fat for flavour), a soffritto of carrots, onions and celery, a generous drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, and a beautiful passata.

Then comes the most important ingredient: time.

Stir… wait… stir again… and wait some more. After at least 3 hours of gentle cooking, my gorgeous ragù is ready.

Pasta, lasagna, ravioli, gnocchi… you choose.

This is the secret sauce that makes my lasagna so delicious and appreciated 🥰 A family recipe passed down from my mum, layered with my homemade butter-free béchamel, a generous sprinkle of aged tasty cheese, and plenty of gooey mozzarella.

Hello everyone, it’s Wednesday already 🤗 halfway to the weekend ‼️

Orders for fresh meals will resume in 2 days, but…no need for panic buying around here!

My nonna taught me that food is meant to bring people together, not create a race to the checkout. 😊

I cook in small batches because I believe in quality, not because I want to create urgency.

If you miss out on a meal, don’t worry… there will always be another pot of soup, another tray of lasagna, and another Friday delivery.

Good things come from a kitchen, not from a countdown clock. ❤️

And you can always sneak in and grab a frozen lasagna or a warm, comforting soup 🥰

❤️ Tonight, I just want to say a huge thank you to my wonderful husband.

After a very busy day in the kitchen cooking meals for my lovely customers, all I wanted was a long, relaxing shower. By the time I came out, he had quietly prepared dinner for us.

Nothing fancy, no big announcement, just a simple act of love. ❤️

He made the most delicious crunchy bruschette in two different flavours. Honestly, they were the best bruschette I’ve ever had. And that’s saying something coming from an Italian! 🇮🇹😊

The funny thing is, I wasn’t even hungry after spending all day around food, but somehow he always knows exactly what I need.

It’s the little things, the quiet gestures, the kindness that asks for nothing in return, that mean the most.

I truly couldn’t do what I do without him by my side. Thank you for supporting me, looking after me, and making even the busiest days feel special.
