✨ Celebrating 50 Years of David Hick Interiors ✨
On 25th June 2026, we proudly celebrate 50 years of business - five decades of craftsmanship, passion, and beautiful interiors.
The story began with a young David Hick, whose passion for furniture and restoration started early. After leaving Jersey to study at St Edmund’s College in Hertfordshire, David made the bold decision at just 16 to follow a more hands-on path, spending three years apprenticed to a Hertfordshire furniture firm, learning the specialist skills of restoration and French polishing.
Returning to Jersey with a vision of becoming an antique dealer, David was kindly loaned a barn in St. Clement by the Callec family. As the business outgrew this it moved to a store in St Lawrence before opening his first shop in Union Street in the summer of 1977. Then on to Burrard street two years later before David and Rosemary bought Alexandra House in 1981.
In those formative years, alongside the support and dedication of his wife Rosemary, the foundations of the business were built through hard work, shared passion, and a commitment to quality. Together they helped shape what would become a respected and enduring name in Jersey interiors.
Over the years, the business evolved alongside changing tastes and lifestyles. From antiques to pine furniture, and later to contemporary interiors, David embraced change while never compromising on quality, craftsmanship, or individuality.
From the historic Alexandra House , itself celebrated as an outstanding example of building preservation, David Hick Interiors grew into something truly unique: blending timeless antiques with exclusive contemporary furnishings, interior design, and bespoke kitchen design.
Fifty years on, the values remain the same - exceptional quality, enduring style, and a commitment to helping create beautiful homes.
Thank you to our loyal clients, talented team, and everyone who has been part of this journey.
