Pictures really don't do this little bowl justice. It's sugar maple with a tiny bit of quilting in a few places and a lot going on. From random grain changes to trying to be a crotch bowl.
I normally put feet on the bottoms of my bowls if they aren't going to be totally smooth. Just didn't feel right with this one.

If you follow me on the Facebook, you've read about my... learning... experience with CA Glue. Well, here's the cause. This project was originally going to be a much larger bowl. Then, it was almost firewood.
Still, pretty pleased with how it turned out.

On this page, you see all of my successes. All of my finished projects/ products. Even the occasional family update.

What you don't see are the failures and learning experiences. Earlier today, I applied a liberal amount of CA Glue (basically super glue) to a project and let it sit around while working on another project.

I finished the latter project and had some time available. I figured 5 hours was a good amount of time for the glue to set (especially because I gave it a good spray down with accelerator).

To my surprise... a CA Glue bath was NOT on the docket for today.

Some days, I go out to actually do work.

Then, there are days like today where "I wonder," or "what if?" wins out.

Which leads us here to the 2x turned bowl.
First turned like a log, then rotated 90° and turned again (into a bowl). I intentionally offset the piece by an eyeballed distance on the second turning that resulted in the "cropping" of one side.

We just welcomed our son into this world May 22nd! Little man has taken our schedules and completely thrown them out of the window😅

Yes I AM planning on getting back into making things, but that's probably going to be closer to the beginning of next month.
