Auroville Bamboo Centre Situated in Auroville, Tamil Nadu, South India the ABRC started in 2009 with the intention of developing a place of excellence for bamboo research.

The Auroville Bamboo Centre is a not-for-profit undertaking where a part of proceeds goes to supporting the Mohanam Community Centre Kindergarten. It is our conviction that the time for bamboo revolution has come, and that Auroville, an international community in India, dedicated to endless education, is a perfect place to help this revolution.

Today we had the pleasure of hosting a group of German architecture students at the Bamboo Centre, Auroville 🌿

They participated in our Bamboo Building Workshop and explored various bamboo joinery techniques through hands-on learning. It was inspiring to see their curiosity and enthusiasm for sustainable architecture.

Our architect, Mr. Manu Gopalan, delivered an insightful presentation on bamboo construction, structural systems, and innovative joinery methods.
A wonderful exchange of knowledge, creativity, and sustainable building practices!
