I have been asked this many times at craft fairs and markets. My products are all 100% designed and made by me in my home shop here in Kansas. My items are Celtic inspired hence the name "Awen" which is Welsh for inspiration. I love Celtic art & designs and decided to start a little Celtic inspired shop. My ideas come from my parents love for their native countries, Wales and Scotland and my husband's distant relatives are from Ireland.
I love to hear from folks who come to my booth that they are from those areas, love to hear the accents & hear their stories.

I should have mentioned this back in June, but I gotten so busy making new inventory for my fall session of craft fairs & time got away from me. Still not a good excuse.
As I was setting up for Garden Plains' Vintage fair, I had a very unexpected, but much pleasurable visit from my brother in law, Max.
My head was down and I heard this familiar voice & looked up & there he was! We caught up a bit. We haven't gotten to see him & my sister in law or their sons much.
I was so happy to see Max and it made my day that he took the time to stop by to say hello.
So thank you, bro, for stopping and making this old gal smile. It was so good to see you & hope we see each other again sooner!!

This is a very very small-scale replica of a Viking cauldron or "vete" used to let others know the enemy was approaching. It was filled with wood and topped oil so it would burn large & for a long time.
In place of a lighting pad I made here, it would have stone.
The Celtic nation evolved from the Norseman when they invaded Britain, Ireland, Scotland, & Wales. The TV series, Vikings, was not far off from the history lesson.
These were known to be lite when there was a wedding or birth as well. The vete or veters were larger than a house and the fire would burn for days.

Tomorrow's El Dorado Farm & Art Market at East Park, 100 N. Woodland, from 10am to 2pm, will be my last attendance for this summer. The Farm & Art Market last day is actually on September 6 for this year.
Saturday, September 26, I will be in Viking Vendor Market revealing my new Celtic Gift Shoppe, Awen Wood Designs & Celtic Heritage Art. Winfield High School Auxiliary Gym, 300 N. Viking Blvd, Winfield, KS from 9am to 3pm.
Take a step into Ireland and Scotland with Irish Blessings, Celtic art, candles, soaps, jewelry, wood decor and many more Celtic products being added at each fair I am attending this fall. All decor items are handmade by me, here in the Heartland using my scroll saw. I have designed and created everything in my booth including booth decor to display my wares. Many of my products are shipped to Irish shoppes overseas.
