After a long hiatus, I am back on instagram!! As some of you know, I had grade 3a breast cancer. After chemotherapy, I had 25 rounds of radiation, and then a low dose chemo drug for another 12 months. I am happy to announce I am cancer free!!! It was a long, hard journey but I made it to the other side. 🌞

I also built a company called Caprine, where we make socks and throws from the mohair of our angora goats.

Rachel and Sarah graduated from the University of Idaho and moved back home to help our new business. Rachel runs the ranch and Sarah works with me on the Caprine side.

Our socks and throws are made with our mohair and blended with merino wool from the mountain west.

We believe happy goats make happy mohair! We love our land and work to keep our footprint small. We co-exist in harmony with the wildlife that also calls north Idaho home. We are inspired by the natural beauty around us! I hope you find inspiration in our socks and throws! Please checkout ShopCaprine.com and I hope you add a little bit of our ranch to your home and your feet!

Hugs and love, Angela ❤️

The drought has stolen our beautiful green pastures, yet there is beauty to be found in life itself. Our angora goats are always hopeful there will be a bit of green somewhere! Shearing starts in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to a crop of gorgeous mohair!

✨How many of you find spinning relaxing? I do!!! I love spinning mohair locks. These locks are from my angora goats. 🐐 Some of the locks are white, some are a natural taupe color, and some of the locks I dyed a riot of colors. I am spinning them very fat and chunky. When I am done I will spiral ply. I am thinking of listing these chunky art yarns for sale. What do you think? 🧶

I am taking a journey I never thought I would take.

This week I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I am 56 years old and healthy. I run where we raise angora goats for their mohair.

I take care of my goats, go to the gym, have a healthy lifestyle, and am never sick.

Yet here I am - I have cancer.

I usually post pretty photos of our products, the ranch, and the animals.

Now, I will be including my cancer journey on this platform as well.
I will take you behind the scenes so you can see the beauty and the trials in my life.

I hope to encourage others along the way and most importantly, I want you to share my motto of always have hope.

🧶Do you ever have questions like what is a niddy noddy or lazy kate or hackle?Or how to dye yarn? Or what is the best spinning wheel? Or the one question I get asked more than any other — how to wash mohair!

My daughter, Sarah , and I are starting a blog to answer these questions and many more! Our blog will cover the fiber arts: from spinning, knitting, and crocheting — to weaving, how-tos, and product reviews — and everything IN BETWEEN — including how to raise fiber animals, fiber festivals across America, and how to sell your fiber art.

Our blog will encompass everything you have ever wanted to know about fiber arts!!

“Fiber In Between” will be launching in June. We are working on blog posts now - so if you have a question you would like us to address in future blog posts, comment below!!

Sarah and I are so excited to share our knowledge with you!!! Together we have 25+ years worth of experience. We will share what we have learned, and if we don’t know the answer or how-to, we will research it, try it, review it, and share with you!!!

Follow us to stay up-to-date on our blog! Be sure to comment on what YOU would like us to include!!

~ Angela 😊

These colors are completely natural and free from dyes. I love seeing you all use it in your fiber art and it makes the goats happy too!
