Beneath the rugged, sculptural exterior of a seashell lies the beautiful iridescent shimmering tones of soft pinks, silvery whites, pale greens and blues.

Mother of pearl, also known as nacre, is the beautiful, lustrous material that lines the inside of certain mollusk shells like abalone, oysters and some mussels.

This natural material is formed as a mollusk grows, and deposits incredibly thin layers of nacre layer upon layer.

Nature’s artistry at its finest and never two shells exactly alike.

For me a coastal or lake home is perfectly layered.
Soothing tones of the water - aqua, turquoise, blues and greens in all shades.
Seashells, stones, feathers, driftwood and oddities- collected over time and creatively displayed.
And a beautiful eclectic mix of furniture- blending some new neutral anchor pieces and then adding the details with pieces found and scavenged at antique stores, thrift shops, flea markets and some handed down over time.
But, always evolving. 🩷
