Starting to work on a new image for rude girls. There really aren’t any female cartoons/logos/illustrations that capture the strength, verve and style of rude girls dancing to ska. Walt Jabsco -based on an early Peter Tosh image -was created more than 40 years ago and has lasted through the decades. The English Beat girl spinning disks is a style of art that reproduces male idealization of the young female. She appears insubstantial in form and function, even if she is spinning disks. So here’s my first attempt at a rude girl illustration based on my own 1980s rude girl style. Because, why not?
