The Bear's Den Home of warm socks and more made on circular sock knitting machines. We use high quality yarns, alpaca, merino, superwash wool, bamboo, wool-free, cotton

Our socks are hand-cranked on either the antique Autoknitter Sock Knitting Machine, manufactured in the 1920's at 1820 Davenport Road, Toronto, Ontario or the Erlbacher Gearhart Sock Knitting Machine, which is a new refabricated 1924 Gearhart Knitting Machine. Our machines are special on their own -- the Autoknitter was a friend's mother and lovingly looked after and kept her family warm in Quebe

c and Ontario, and the Erlbacher Gearhart Knitting Machine and was the first one brought to Canada in 2011. We began our journey only with the original manual and the internet,. We met many interesting people along our path and now we conduct a convention each Fall with crankers coming from as far away as PEI to Minnesota, across Ontario, and through several States. I lecture and demo to various groups, knitting guilds, craft groups, history lovers, historical societies and retirement homes to name a few. Our merchandise is created with an eye to detail and care in construction to ensure high quality products.
