This morning I was on site in Xewkija for the survey of a ground floor shell form. Taking measurements, checking ceiling heights, noting existing openings, and thinking through how the layout can work.

Everyone asks me this before we even talk about their project.

"Do I really need a designer? Or can I just manage it myself?"

Honest answer: sometimes you don't. If you're making cosmetic changes to a move-in-ready apartment, you'll be fine without me.

But if you're converting a shell form, managing a renovation from abroad, or building a short-let you want to actually book well, the real question is different.

It's not whether you can afford a designer.
It's whether you can afford to renovate without one.
