DEFENDER OF THE BRIDE!!

Emily and Brandon wanted something a little different for their wedding day!! Alongside the woodland theme of bold autumn hues of dahlias, pumpkins and crab apples in a twilight wedding was two delicately crafted wired adornments by Akers-of-Art a rose for the bride and a sword for her maid of honour sister

After watching one of the royal ceremonies where a lady was carrying a sword ahead of the monarch they knew it had to be apart of the wedding!! Little did they know at the time the symbolism of it…..back in medieval times the maid of honour would carry a sword as a protector from the bride being kidnapped!! This sword was attached to a handmade willow wreath ready to draw at any given moment that a dark knight would appear!!

A sister who is fierce, loyal, a protector and defender is worthy of carrying a sword ahead of the bride and I am here for it!!

Vote for Women!!!!

Last night I went to Birmingham Hippodrome to watch the musical Sylvia with Beverley Knight staring in - It was a musical on the Suffragettes ‘votes for women’ movement started by Emmeline Pankhurst in the early 1900’s, I wasn’t sure what to expect and wasn’t 100% sure it was my thing but I absolutely loved it and totally recommend going to see it!

I had time today to consider all that has happened since then and how they laid the foundation blueprint for the modern business and marketing today through running the women’s social and political union and media savvy enterprise and how today I am able to run a successful business as a woman and to link with other amazing women in business too

Shall I let you into a little secret?

This bouquet was never planned!!
Because the original brief didn’t include a bouquet. Emma Pietragallo and Phil’s original plans had to changed so decided to elope and get married anyway, but wanted to wait to celebrate with all their friends and family later on.

With Just over 24hrs to go until party day I checked in with Emma about delivery of venue flower and there was a wee moment that she now wished she had ordered a bouquet and buttonholes as they were having photos…. Me No problems!!

Out comes the Hedge and Berries fairy Godmother, Does a few twirls and creates a bouquet fit for a princess!!

Autumn Wedding vibes! 🍁

As the Autumn equinox marks the change of season, so it marks the change of colour tones for the new season!!

Burnt oranges tones, deep reds and purples, mustard yellows and moss green mixed with woodlands is what’s called for and it really does set the moody scene whilst still having an air of beauty and elegance

Ruby Jewels for today’s Bride!

When the brief is ‘just red’ tall with floor length red ribbon my mind was a whirl but thanks to some amazing local flower farms I was able to create floral magic with different shades of reds and textures adding depth and drama to create something totally unique and I am here for it!!
