Something has been sitting heavily on my heart lately...

We need to learn to walk more gently with one another.

Every person we meet is somewhere along a road we cannot fully see.

Some are walking confidently.

Some are limping.

Some have taken detours.

Some are standing still because they simply don't know which way to go next.

And some are carrying things so quietly that nobody around them even knows how heavy the load has become.

Yet we are often so quick to form opinions about roads we have never walked.

We see someone's reaction, but we don't know what happened before it.

We see the choice they made, but we don't know what choices were available to them.

We see how they cope and wonder why they do things that way, without knowing what they have had to adapt to along the journey.

We see one moment.

God sees the whole story.

I've learned something through my own journey:

You don't need to understand someone's road to treat them gently while they walk it.

You don't have to agree with everything they believe.

You don't have to make the same choices.

You don't have to understand why they express themselves differently from you.

You don't even need to know their entire story.

Kindness doesn't require an explanation first.

Sometimes the most compassionate thing we can do is ask a question instead of making an assumption.

Listen instead of correcting.

Encourage instead of criticising.

And sometimes...

simply say nothing and allow another person the dignity of walking their own road.

Because we really don't know what someone is carrying.

Something that is easy for you may take every bit of strength another person has today.

Something you can do without thinking may require tremendous effort from someone else.

And something you would never choose may have become another person's way of adapting, creating, healing, remembering, expressing themselves or simply continuing forward.

Their reality.

Their story.

Their journey.

We don't have to understand all of it.

But we can still be gentle.

And perhaps there is another question worth asking ourselves:

When someone's road crosses mine, what do I leave behind?

Do my words make their burden heavier?

Do I make them feel smaller?

Do I leave them questioning themselves?

Or...

do I leave behind a little kindness?

A little dignity?

A little encouragement?

A little hope?

The world doesn't need more people standing beside the road telling everyone else how they should be walking.

It needs more people willing to walk alongside someone for a little while and say:

“I may not understand your road, but I will treat you gently while you walk it.”

We are all travellers.

We are all still learning.

We are all carrying something.

So today...

Walk gently.

You never know whose road has been particularly difficult lately. 🌿💛

Sometimes we become so busy surviving…
that we forget we are allowed to slow down.

We carry stress in our shoulders.
Worry in our thoughts.
Exhaustion in our hearts.
And we keep pushing forward because life expects us to keep going.

But maybe today is your reminder:

Pause.
Breathe.
Reset.

“I breathe in Peace, I breathe out Tension.”

Slow, intentional breathing calms more than the body.
It quiets the noise within us.
It softens racing thoughts.
It releases tension we didn’t even realize we were carrying.

Maybe today we need to ask ourselves:

“How am I living?”
“What stress am I carrying?”
“Am I resting?”
“Am I nourishing myself?”
“Am I emotionally okay?”
“Do I feel supported?”
“Does anybody actually listen to me?”

Living intentionally means becoming aware of what our soul, mind, and body are trying to tell us.

God never asked us to live in constant exhaustion.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is simply slow down long enough to breathe again.

Today, give yourself permission to rest.
Permission to be gentle with yourself.
Permission to heal.
Permission to slow down.

🌿 Inhale deeply for 7 seconds.
🌿 Exhale slowly for 8 seconds.

Peace is found in the pause.

Keep rising. Keep healing. Keep trusting.
