Asked my mom to make a dish inspired by our Minnows runner for a balmy brunch with good friends - and this is what won: A proper Smörgåstårta (Swedish Sandwich Cake) with a crisp mango & ginger coleslaw followed by coffee liqueur & ‘s easy yet fantastic Raspberry Tiramisu that stole my heart over the weekend - and I had no choice but to try it out.

Cheers to the few & far between slow middays that open up portals for relaxed connections, new friends and new flavours

🔔A note about our Handmade Seed Bells🔔

I’ve recently received feedback that a small number of The Coocoo Club Handmade Seed Bells may have developed mould after purchase. I’m incredibly sorry for this and want to acknowledge the issue with care and transparency.

These seed bells were made in small handmade batches, and while every effort was made to package them beautifully and thoughtfully, it has become clear that some did not hold up as intended.

If you purchased one and experienced this issue, please contact me directly so I can replace or refund it.

I take the quality of everything I make very seriously, and I am currently reviewing the product recipe, drying process, and packaging before offering them again.

Thank you for your understanding, and for supporting a small business that is always learning and improving with care.

The Fishfingers er uhm I mean Kingfishers / Visvangers van Suid-Afrika Collection has brought me *immense* joy to create. There just is no better word than ‘gobSMACKED’ when it comes to describing how I feel about this group of birds’ colouration. I mean, kom nou!!

Our Kingfishers are tiny, electric‑blue hunters with superpowers hidden in plain sight. 🥷💙🐠 Some species can see underwater by correcting for refraction, others hover like miniature drones, and a few don’t fish at all — preferring insects, frogs, even the odd scorpion 🦂

From the jewel‑bright Malachite to the black, white & copper Giant Kingfisher, each one is a study in precision. They have fused toes for digging nest tunnels, razor‑sharp bills evolved for spearing prey, and courtship rituals as dramatic as their colours.

I couldn’t have used a better pigment than to get as close as possible to this magnificent - and highly choreographed colour palette by the ultimate Colourist.

What a total VIBE! ⚡️⚡️⚡️I am flooded with all the good feels about this Autumn in the Winelands Market! It’s like a mothership for intensely passionate creatives that insist on crafting items that are unique, high quality (maybe too high 😅) and proudly South African!

This is exactly why I reached out to one of my inspirations to feature her exquisite Paradise Floor Lamp in my stalletjie - and my oh my, how lucky am I to collaborate with and feature something so utterly charming!? Also inspired by the lines and colours of a bird, this lamp looks like it was made for our new Fancy Feathers 100% Cotton Sheer Curtains!

Whilst illustrating the Kingfishers of South Africa collection my mouth kept hanging open in awe of the mind-blowing colour palettes of their feathers, so I decided to dedicate an entire fabric range to it.

So, thank you Kamers for offering a place and space for creative (mostly) female small businesses can spread our wings, collab, and fly 🪽
