Did you know taking a clipping of a frangipani is as simple as breaking a branch off?

It is expected that this beauty will lose its leaves and beautiful flowers but a few months down the line she will recover and produce new leaves and flowers 🌺

The perfect indication that this little plant needed some extra love.

Have you every spotted one of your plants looking like this?

I noticed a few weeks ago that this plant hasn’t had much new growth over the summer. Questioning why that may be I decided to investigate further…

What I had found in fact was not a rootbound plant but one that was lacking a healthy amount of soil.

Picture 3: This is exactly how the plant came out of the pot, showing there was little to no soil for this plant to thrive. The quality of soil was also not great enough for this plant to produce more growth, there was no water retention.

I decided to keep the plant in the same pot as I felt it was struggling due to the lack of soil and not necessarily the space.
So this beauty will stay in that pot for another season and I’ll take a look again next summer to see if she will need a bigger pot.

In the attempts of recovery, I very quickly removed the old soil around the roots - mixed it in with some new nutrient rich soil and perlite and finally potted this beautiful heart shaped leaf Philodendron 🤍

Added some mulch to top it off and now she is happy and ready to grow 🌿

Although most of the plants I work with tend to have different watering schedules, as some prefer more water throughout the week than others, I do throughly enjoy making Sunday my “self-care” day for all my plants.

This morning I spent some time watering all the green beauties, giving them each their own individual attention. I removed some dying leaves, sprayed a natural anti-pest spray on two of the plants and repotted one that was root-bound and not getting enough growth.

This time is valuable for me as it allows me to assess what each of my plants is going through and what they might need more or less of.

Sharing my Sundays with all the beautiful plants around me always starts my day off right. Taking the time out to do something I love most fulfils my soul 🤍

How do you like to spend your Sunday mornings?

My second plant buy of the year 🥂

The ever so beautiful Mini Monstera. I am so happy to be adding another one of these to my collection 🌿

I fell in love with this specific plant because of the way the stem is growing to the side. It has such an artistic feel to it… now just to find an appropriate pot to enhance its beauty.

If you’re looking for a plant to give you good foliage but you don’t have a ton of space, then I’d recommend getting this vining plant that takes up minimal space.

Tips for success:
1) Make sure the plant is placed in medium to bright indirect light.
2) Water once a week when the top two inch’s of the soil are dry.
3) If you want the plant to grow vertically, place a long stick or bamboo in the soil and tie the stem to the stick to encourage upward growth.

Scientific name: Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma
