A successful workplace should always leave room for more than focused work.

In this project for a leading insurance company, the pause area was designed as a central space for employees to step away, recharge and connect. The mix of seating settings allows for flexibility, whether for an informal discussion, a quick lunch, or a moment of downtime. Strong material contrasts, natural timber accents and bold colour details help give the space energy and character.

The result is a space that feels social, contemporary and intentionally integrated into the wider workplace experience.

The workstation areas for a leading insurance company were designed to support the rhythm of the everyday.

The goal was to creat a work environment that balances openness, focus and flexibility. The open-plan workstations encourage connection and visibility across teams, while integrated call booths and Zoom rooms provide quieter spaces for private conversations, virtual meetings and focused work.

The result is a workplace that feels efficient, calm and considered, with every element designed to support how people work today.

A well-designed boardroom should do more than house meetings. It should support the way people think, engage and collaborate.

In this project for a leading insurance company, the boardroom was designed with a clear balance of warmth and professionalism. The space combines clean lines, a muted palette, generous natural light and carefully integrated technology to create a setting that feels sophisticated without being overly formal.

It is a space built for connection, clarity and modern ways of working.

First impressions matter, especially in a corporate environment where trust, professionalism and attention to detail are central to the brand experience.

For this leading insurance company, the guest welcome area was designed to feel composed and approachable. Warm timber, soft lighting, curved architectural forms and subtle styling bring a sense of hospitality into the workplace, creating a more relaxed arrival experience for clients, visitors and employees alike.

A small space, but an important moment in the overall journey.

Stay tuned for more on this project.

Modern work environments focus on more than just productivity, incorporating health and wellness into their operations to encourage a balanced and sustainable way of working.

The gym space at TELUS Digital's Maitland campus extends the workplace experience beyond productivity, creating a dedicated environment for wellbeing, energy and reset.

Designed with a balance of openness and structure, the space accommodates both high-intensity training and quieter, more focused movement. Equipment is arranged to allow for ease of flow, while the central planting introduces a natural rhythm that softens the more industrial aesthetic.

Large windows bring in natural light, reinforcing a connection to the outside and enhancing the overall sense of openness. Materiality remains consistent with the broader design language, ensuring the gym feels integrated rather than separate from the workspace.

A dedicated studio area adds flexibility, supporting activities such as stretching, mobility and recovery, and allowing the space to adapt to different user needs throughout the day.

The result is a considered wellness environment that supports both physical performance and mental clarity, contributing to a more balanced and human-centred workplace.

The second floor boardroom is designed as a space where identity, collaboration and environment come together with intent.

At the centre of the room sits a bespoke timber boardroom table, detailed with inlaid graphics that reference movement, flow and connection. More than a functional surface, the table becomes a storytelling element, grounding conversations in a sense of place and purpose.

The backdrop is defined by a bold, large-scale mural inspired by the surrounding landscape, bringing colour and energy into what is traditionally a formal setting. This injects a sense of creativity and perspective into strategic discussions, reinforcing the idea that innovation is shaped by context.

Floor-to-ceiling glazing opens the space outward, allowing natural light to filter through while maintaining a strong visual connection to the wider office. Privacy features also ensure a level of discretion is attainable when needed, without closing off the boardroom at all times.

Integrated planting along the perimeter softens the architectural lines and introduces a calm, human layer to the environment.

Clean ceiling lines and integrated lighting create a sense of focus and clarity, while the overall palette balances warmth and precision, ensuring the space feels both professional and inviting.

The result is a boardroom that moves beyond convention. It is not just a place for meetings, but a space designed to encourage alignment, inspire ideas and reflect the character of the organisation.

This operational floor was designed to balance density with dignity featuring structured rows of workstations framed by steel portals, softened by integrated greenery and warm brick. The result is an environment that feels organised, but far from boring.

Biophilic elements are part and parcel of the experience, not decorative afterthoughts. Planters divide zones, absorb sound and introduce rhythm into the layout. They create micro-thresholds between focused work and collaborative areas without building walls.

The exposed services and linear lighting celebrate the building’s industrial character, while timber finishes and textured flooring ground the space in warmth. Pops of vibrant green seating energise the environment and reinforce a sense of identity.

Along the perimeter, booth seating and high counters provide alternative work settings - offering places to reset, take a quick call or shift posture during the day.

TELUS Digital South Africa wanted a workplace designed for movement, for visibility and for energy.

The approach resulted in a creative space that supports productivity while championing the personality of this vibrant brand and the people that represent it.

This campus was not simply designed to house people but to retain them, represent them, and scale with them.

That principle extends to every square metre, including circulation space.

The ground floor passage integrates art, material warmth, and spatial clarity into a high-traffic zone, ensuring that even transitional areas contribute to identity and experience.

Because environment builds trust, and trust builds retention.

Operational growth is only sustainable if culture scales with it.

The ground floor canteen was designed to be more than just a functional dining facility. It serves as the social infrastructure of the campus, a space where shifts overlap, teams connect, and informal exchange strengthens formal performance.

Layered timber beams, suspended planting, and communal benching soften an industrial palette, while durable finishes ensure high-volume resilience.

TELUS Digital understands that retention is not built in boardrooms, it is built in shared spaces, where team members feel part of something bigger, where they feel part of a community.

Growth requires communication and collaboration.

The First Floor Presentation Room was designed as a focused environment for team briefings, training sessions, and account alignment. Tiered seating introduces a sense of structure, while softened materials and curved forms prevent the space from feeling overly corporate.

Integrated AV, intimate scale, and acoustic containment support clear messaging within a secure operational environment.

Because scaling teams is not just about adding seats, it’s about aligning people.
