Hong Kong (Dubai) Harare
We are on our biggest travel adventure to date, with my boys in an exotic city, new to us all- we knew it was time and we needed a change in culture to unlock our senses.
Airports, travelators, trains, busses, trams, boats, ferries, cable cars, the boys have been on more modes of transport than I think they can comprehend.
The feeling I have when I’m in Paris, walking, seeing, more walking and everything with a layer of the orient.
We emerged ourselves and the boys into every aspect that we could. We walked, saw, ate and we loved, with me, we tracked our step counts, stopped on the pavements for street food, used our maps and had “getting lost moments”, we planned our days, looked for little side ally food stops, had filled water bottles and held hands through crazy markets selling snakes, birds and balms.
More than anything I did not expect how much I have loved traveling with my kids. To see the world through their eyes has been the hugest gift and, truthfully, one I had not fully comprehended. To see them soak in and then re-tell their ideas and understandings of if, has been my most cherished gift.
To understand better the life my sister has set up in this incredible city has left me so proud, inspired and humbled. Some of my best moments were doing things that were “part of her day”… she opened a world to my boys, and in that, has given them a gift few aunts can give, proving agin, that, distance is what you make of it and family is everything.
A few snaps from hundreds.
