rooms!
The calm away from home but still feels homey but a tad bit like a hotel! 😉 The spaces we wanted guests to feel comfortable yet pampered. Look forward to falling asleep in and awaken feeling refreshed and at peace.
If I can use a real oxymoron here - bold calm (!) colours were used in each space. All the colours used have an earthy feel. Grounded but not dull. Paired with elegant lighting fittings and some interesting little bits here and there to add a bit of interest and whimsy.
(Abstract crocodile trays in gold on each dressing table for example 😁)
Each bedroom has a full en suite bathroom, spacious cabinetry for your holiday clothes and a small counter with drawers with integrated fridges for the little extras you’d like to keep on hand.

Time for a nap maybe after looking those comfy beds again 😁😁

Reception area and lounge for - the welcome place. The area that sets the tone for guests and visitors as they arrive. It was really important to us to ensure this space exuded a sense of calm, a warm welcome , sophistication and understated elegance all while having a little fun.

We added a bold green to all the walls in the area and then added the dynamic and charming wall mural from . This combination along with very carefully selected larger pieces and curated decor, bring life into the area.

Oak shelves built into large unusable wall niches flanking the fireplace and this oak wood look was picked up in the mantle, the desk front, the legs of the entrance table and the standing lamp. A little invisible string connecting it all.

I rather like the space. And the feeling one gets when in it, is exactly how I imagined it should be. Shew 😬😂

Episode 20 💪💪
Pop goes the ….. cork 🍾🍾. I love celebrating big and little wins and anything in between because life is to be celebrated- this cork was just a tad too eager and excited 😂

Moved in and only painting the bathrooms 😬😬. Well at least it happened 😂

Fable restaurant is the designated venue for fine dining experiences
With abundant valley views from the large glass windows, guests are invited to sit on comfortable seating that allows slow enjoyment of the cuisine amid memorable conversations with friends and fellow diners. We painted the walls a darker green to bring in some elegant cosiness while still maintaining the lightness of the area. The engineered wood flooring from grounds the space beautifully.

For pre dinner drinks or post dinner chill, a comfortable lounge area has been arranged for guests to lounge and take it all in. In winter the beautiful fireplace will create a warm and inviting space.

Some of the phenomenal wines of the Tulbagh valley and surrounding areas are on display in a custom designed and made wine display case for guests to have a look at. The backdrop of the exquisite Lumo Stone adds visual depth and texture while drawing together all the colours in the space.

Next up in our tour of is the pool area that flanks Buchu.
The goal here was to create a charming, chilled yet sophisticated vibe. An area that enables you to forget your worries and your strifes. The strong black and white stripe of the umbrella brings a sense of whimsy and provides a striking feature point balanced with the anthracite colour of the cast aluminium furniture and softer stone and green lounger cushions.

Different seating options were arranged to ensure comfort and ease for guests.

Picture it … Cocktail in hand, lying or sitting in the shade while listening to the soothing sounds of the abundant bird life in the area. A dip in the refreshing pool and a light meal from the on site restaurant. Bliss 🤩

Last year we were involved in a project doing the design and decor for a new 4 star small hotel / country house .

We are rather proud of how it all turned out 💙😁 and thought to share it with you all!
We got to work with an absolutely amazing team of contractors mentioned below.
First up is the pool / entertainment area restaurant, Buchu.

The brief was for a relaxing space with a lounge area as well and some tables and chairs for hotel guests as well as members of the public to be able to sit comfortably while enjoying a light meal, cup of coffee, cocktail or anything else on the menu!

Of course we needed to bring some of the sass that we love to add. The gorgeous black and white hexagonal tiles on the back wall most definitely bring that in!

We combined it with golds, greens and touches of black to add depth and interest to the space. Furnishings and accessories were carefully chosen to relay a laid back yet sophisticated style and space (kinda our signature vibe at Interiors Etc 😉☺️).

A combined bar and kitchen area services the space with ease of flow and ample storage to hide any items not necessary to be on show.

We quite like the space. What do you think?

Building work done by Rehan Putter of JH Putter Bouers
Architect and Project Management was done by Paul Meyer from PDM Architecture & PM
Electrical was done Leon Hough & his team of Hough Electrical
The landscaping was done by Averil Slater and her team

An absolutely amazing bunch of people to work with. 💙😎🥂
