Living-Space Renovators & Decorators Living-Space was established in 2008 by Felicity Collen, and with a team of dedicated artisans we renovate bathrooms, kitchens, living-areas and patios.

Living-Space specializes in the renovation of bathrooms, kitchens, living areas and patios. The owner, Felicity, works closely with the clients to establish their needs, and gives creative, spatial and structural input as to the new proposed layout. Once the new design is approved, a quote is provided to the client for approval and on approval a written contract is drawn up. All work is overseen b

y Felicity. The Living-Space team consists of professional artisans who construct new ceilings, skim, plaster, tile, build and paint. Plumbing and Electrical work is handled by approved Sub-Contractors and overseen by Living-Space.

This year has seen a flurry of activity. From Sea Point, through Rondebosch, Vredehoek, Constantia to Muizenberg. I will shortly post pictures and updates. We are taking a short break, in preparation for Christmas celebrations and a period of rest.

Vredehoek: This project commenced with a relatively small scope but ultimately expanded into a full bathroom and kitchen renovation. The demolition phase involved the unexpected discovery of a structural concrete beam while creating an opening between the kitchen and living area. Here are some pictures of the demolition process. The final kitchen renovation will be presented in the next post, highlighting the impressive outcome achieved despite the challenges faced.

We've spent the past 3 weeks altering the boundary wall of a Heritage home in Tamboerskloof. So beautiful to see the Tablemountain sandstone foundations.....and the challenge of working around that, while creating a new wall which does not impede the view from the one-way street corner. Before and after! This small bathroom in Observatory has been some time coming. We've done work for these lovely clients...

Before and after! This small bathroom in Observatory has been some time coming. We've done work for these lovely clients before. The mom had multiple back surgeries and is currently using an assisted Walker aid. We have turned this small bathroom into a space where she can feel safe, and has her dignity. Now she can walk in, discard the Walker, use the grab rail and sit on a secure chair to shower without assistance. I love these moments when what we do makes a significant difference to someone's life.
