FROM PALLET TO PURPOSE | Episode 2: The Planter That Found Its Purpose 🌱

This little pallet-wood "My First Planter Box" planter started with a very simple idea: to give the grandkids their own space to plant, dig and grow something.

We made the first one and even took it along to a few markets, where it received some lovely feedback.

But the intention had originally been for the children and I still really wanted to see it being used that way.

Then Googsy, who loves her garden, came to visit and had the perfect opportunity to put it to use with Cruzy.

Cruzy was so into it and took it very seriously. 🌱🤗

Seeing the two of them digging, planting and enjoying it together was exactly what I had hoped for when we first came up with the idea. And they are never too young to start!

Sometimes the real value of something handmade isn’t just what it is. It’s the little moments it helps create. ❤️🤗

These planters can also be made to order and be personalised.

Two weeks ago I shared a pile of plain wooden blocks and asked you to stay tuned...

Well... here they are!

A simple piece of wood has become a personalised play phone, ready for endless conversations, adventures and imaginative fun. 📱💛

We're also so excited to introduce our new colour palette from for our wooden toy range: 💚 Sage Green 🩵 Dusty Blue 💛 Mustard 🧡 Terracotta 🤍 Cream

These beautiful muted colours are timeless, calming and perfect for little hands and growing imaginations.

Each phone has been carefully sealed for protection and, after a couple of weeks of enthusiastic play, they're still going strong!

It all started back in 2017.

Not with a big plan, not with a proper logo, and definitely not with everything figured out.

It started as a hobby - making things, testing ideas, learning as we went.

Over the years, the name changed, the logo changed, the products changed, and slowly it became something much more than we first imagined.

And truthfully, that has a lot to do with the people who have supported us along the way.

Every order, every custom request, every review, every recommendation has all helped us grow.

Some of our favourite products have come from people asking, “Can you make this?” And if it’s within our capabilities, we’re up for the challenge.

That’s how Pallet Wood Creations KZN has grown into more than just one type of product. From dog bowl stands and home pieces to wooden educational toys and custom makes, there has been a lot of learning, trying and figuring things out along the way.

We’re also so grateful for the amazing reviews we’ve received. They mean so much to us, and they also help other people feel more confident buying from a small local business.

So this little brand refresh feels like the right next step.

We’re still working with raw and varnished wood, but we’ve also started adding more colour, especially with the wooden toy range.

Same journey. Same hands. Same willingness to try something new.

We are so excited to introduce the newest addition to our Me Series.

A personalised planter box made for little gardeners, curious hands, and children who love watching something grow.

This first one is our display sample, and we’ll have it at Blackwood’s Nursery in Assagay tomorrow for you to see in person.

It is a lovely idea for birthdays, Christmas gifts, school holiday fun, grandparent gifts, or a sweet screen-free activity at home.

Fill it with flowers, herbs, strawberries, or a few easy-to-grow plants, and it becomes their very own little garden.

We’ll be taking orders for personalised boxes, so you can add a child’s name or special wording.
