These heat shields were a bit of promotional fun from the UK factory a few years back.

Fitted to a Cove 2 which we recently painted in Blue at the warehouse. The colour really sets them off nicely. They are vitreous enamel coated so capable of taking the heat.

Heat shields are an optional extra to reduce radiant heat hitting sensitive surfaces nearby. Ideal solution for small spaces where your stove needs to be closer to a heat sensitive material than the recommended 500mm allows. The shields can still be purchased but not with the flag design 😏

Five facts about Charnwood appliances that you probably didn't know.

1) Patents. Charnwood own multiple patents on technologies that are not available on other products in the market. From air control to flame technology, these patents guarantee a unique experience for the user.

2) Steel. The steel used on Charnwood appliances is certified S275 grade British steel. This grade of steel is used in structural engineering and has high tensile strength and resiliance to heat making it ideal for building strong fireboxes. Side note: the cast iron components on Charnwood stoves are also fabricated in the UK.

3) Welds. MIG welds are quite common on woodburning heaters but not robot MIG welds. This added technology ensures a uniform and consistently clean weld. Thicker and stronger. This makes the firebox on a Charnwood stove maintenance free and is why the factory can guarantee it for 10 years.

4) Vermiculite. The consistency of the Vermiculite board in Charnwood stoves is unique. It is heat-pressed and more dense that local Vermiculite boards in SA (20% heavier). This allows the brick to be molded to form unique patterns that improve airflow and create some amazing flame action.

5) Accreditation. Charnwood hold three ISO accreditations. ISO9001. ISO14001. ISO45001. This means that products leaving the factory are made to the highest standards ensuring consistent quality, ethical manufacturing and environmental responsibility.

This Arc 7 in Charnwood "Bronze" came out beautifully. Hard to capture the metallic finish on camera which has a different sheen as the light hits it.

We love a mid-century modern style space here at Charnwood South Africa. Parque flooring. Flat panel classic cabinetry. Iconic furniture pieces. Very nice.

A choice of 8 colours on all stoves means you can compliment any scheme, vintage or otherwise, with a suitable colour on your stove.

In this instance, the large Cove 3 is featured in Charnwood "Brown" with matching flue pipe. This colour is a subtle metalic dark brown that looks great in this space. Alternatively, you prefer "Almond" as featured on the second image.
