WE GIVE THINGS A SECOND LIFE

Chocolat Negro (Spanish for “dark chocolat”) is a young designer label, that endeavors to empower and work with young local African designers and artists. Most of the products Chocolat Negro offers are completely handmade and rooted in African crafts traditions. It is our ambition to bring to you some of the most beautiful, creative products and designs representing the charm of Africa. All our products are created in our own design studio in East London. Chocolat Negro re-uses, re-cycles and re-works waste materials that can be incorporated into new designs. Our vision for the future is to create and sustain work for talented women and men in Africa. We are dedicated to follow a new path in sustainable Eco design by not only choosing typical African materials, like African wax print and original trade beads from West-Africa but by also integrating waste materials and discarded items into our designs. Colors, strong design and form and the fusion of the unexpected, that is what Chocolat Negro stands for. Apart from our own lovingly designed and meticulously handmade products we offer a range of carefully selected vintage clothing and accessories, that we source all over the world. You can also find modern mid century furniture and decor items for your home.

Additionally we design and create costume dresses from genuine African wax prints for which we use vintage patterns from the 1950s to the 1980s that we have collected over a decade. If you looking for something special, made just for you have a look at our range of handmade, new vintage dresses.
