Garden labels can be confusing — but using the wrong one in your food can ruin a recipe (or worse).

English Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) = ✅ Sweet floral flavor, low camphor. Perfect for cookies, tea, lemonade, honey & sugar. Varieties: Hidcote, Munstead, Melissa, Royal Velvet.

Spanish Lavender = ❌ Rabbit ear petals, pinecone heads, stronger resinous aroma. Not for cooking.

Lavandin = ❌ Long loose spikes, tall stems. Too camphorous — not preferred for cooking.
