This piece was set in motion back in September last year when my client reached out and asked if I could create a custom canvas for their wedding day in April 2026.

To be thought of so far in advance and trusted with something that would become part of such a special day is never something I take lightly. 🥹

She wanted to keep my photo illustration style, but bring it onto a large A1 canvas so that it could be displayed as part of their wedding décor and later become a keepsake in their home. She shared details of the wedding theme and décor with me, and together we created something that would work beautifully in both spaces. ✨

The couple both love a minimalist aesthetic but also wanted a pop of bright colour, so we agreed on a clean background that would keep the focus on the couple while complementing the décor around it. Creating it on canvas also allowed for more texture with layers of paint and mixed mediums while keeping the heart of my illustration style intact. 🫶🏼

Over the months, this became more than just a canvas. I was also lucky enough to design their wedding invitations and create artwork that was turned into stickers for their treat boxes. Through all the planning, ideas and conversations, it became a truly collaborative process.🙏🏼

One of my favourite things about what I do is that it goes beyond the artwork itself. The artwork is what people see at the end, but my favourite part is always the people behind it, the trust, the teamwork and the connections built along the way.

To be included in such meaningful moments is something I will always be grateful for.

And now the couple are happily married, and I feel incredibly honoured to have been trusted with a small part of their story. 🤍
