Meet Zacharia Mukwira
"I'm working mostly with oils and acrylic. Art is a journey I'm into, I love to share what I discover. I want to find those voids in people's living spaces and to fill them with the stories that I am telling."
An example is in my favourite work,
#1 Inyoka yabafazi, which means 'A snake of a woman.'"
"This doesn't sound like it's a good thing, but it's a metaphor. The picture depicts my journey to choosing my wife. I was on the road to one woman, when I met a gecko in the road. My grandmother told me that this was redirecting me towards my beautiful wife, Nomsa. When I paint, she is my eyes. I don't see colour the way she does."
"I have created two books with my images so that children can learn to read stories through them.
These books have been created in collaboration with ."
We also did a week exhibition several years back, and have exhibited on the streets of Stellenbosch."
"Think blessed...if you fall into a river, check your pockets for fish".
Google him and follow his stories.
Just one of the gifted artists that we have met in this great experiment in bringing creative people together in a beautiful space.
