House Of ERCO Bespoke Artisanal Home Collections A Small South-African Business situated atop the Saartjies Nek mountain range overlooking Hartbeespoort dam.

Our dedicated workshop is run by a small team of artisans with a combined woodworking experience spanning over 20 years and ranging from antique restoration to modern design and furniture builds. The business is founded by Erik Holm and Colleen Jury-Zeffertt. Erik Holm is a quadriplegic actor and motivational speaker and Colleen Jury-Zeffertt is a multi-disciplinary artist practicing in the fields of sculpture, painting, leatherwork and ceramics.

“Uit ’n stuk wilde olyfhout… met baie geduld, baie ure….uiteindelik :
“DIE BUFFEL”

Hierdie buffelkop is met die hand uit wilde olyfhout gekerf. Hy staan 19 cm hoog, is 16 cm breed en weeg 3,4 kg. Elke lyn, elke kurwe en elke detail is gevorm om die krag en waardigheid van een van Afrika se mees ikoniese diere vas te vang.

Vir my, as C4/C5-kwadrupleeg, is elke beeldhouwerk veel meer as net houtwerk. Elke beweging verg aanpassings, deursettingsvermoë en ure se geduld. Daarom is elke voltooide stuk vir my ’n herinnering dat beperking nie noodwendig bepaal wat moontlik is nie.

Hierdie reis sou egter nie moontlik wees sonder die mense en maatskappye wat in House of ERCO glo nie.

Crafted from carefully selected Curly Red River Gum, this hand-carved Blue Whale captures the quiet majesty of the ocean in solid timber.

Each piece is individually shaped, carved, and finished by hand, allowing the natural grain of the wood to become part of the artwork itself. The flowing phosphorescent resin inlay absorbs light during the day and emits a gentle glow after dark, revealing an entirely different character when the lights go out.
