The faire was founded in 2013 by Lucia Lamprecht, then in her early 80s, after she identified a need for the opportunity for people to come together with a focus on health and higher awareness. The first holistic faire was held at Fernkloof Nature Reserve on April 2013 with Lucia callin
g together people who could promote health or offer alternative services, and with a wish to create a special environment for the well-being and refreshment of all who come. To participate in creating this environment we open the day in lighting candles together, setting the space for goodwill, which is our greatest attraction - more even than the therapists, music, food, nature reserve and sunshine. The table of candles glows inside the hall for the whole day, radiating out its special symbolism. Outside, we provide place for people to gather, and on special occasions we bring sand from a nearby beach for you to make a Mandala on the ground. Sometimes we hold other group energetic activities, and a crafts table where you can paint your old shirt, or your own prayer flags. All around are music, food, therapists, artists and people who want to make life better.
