TDR Teams in Action this Mandela Day 🇿🇦
This Mandela Day, our teams across Tourvest Destination Retail honoured Madiba’s legacy with meaningful acts of service in the communities we call home.
🟡 Johannesburg
Our Joburg team visited Crown Reef Mines Primary School, near the very place where a young Nelson Mandela once worked and taught miners to read. In a full-circle tribute, they transformed the school’s library into a vibrant space filled with books, learning materials, and care packs—reminding us how education can light even the darkest of places.
🟢 Kruger National Park
Trading game drives for story time, the Kruger team spent their 67 minutes at Greenhill Academy, supporting children of local staff with books, toys, and heartwarming care - bringing hope to the edge of the wild.
🔵 Cape Town International Airport
In Elsies River, the team served meals at Norwood Early Learning Centre’s soup kitchen, nourishing both body and spirit.
🔵 Cape Town - Baby Steps Educare
With just R1,000 and big hearts, another Cape Town team turned lunch into a celebration with hotdogs, drinks and smiles all around.
🟣 Hout Bay
At James House, our store team gifted handmade bracelets, warm beanies, and planted a veggie garden to help boost the home’s sustainability.
As Madiba said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
This Mandela Day, we saw that in action - one book, one meal, one smile at a time.
