Four words that feel like a gut punch.

What would the world even look like without art?

No colour. No questioning. No culture.
No mirror to reflect the truth, no language to express what words can’t carry.

Art is not a luxury—it’s a lifeline.
It archives revolutions, whispers the future, and makes sense of chaos.
When we say “no art today,” we also risk saying: no meaning, no memory, no magic.

So here’s my question—
Are we protecting the spaces and people who make art possible?

Because an artless world isn’t just dull. It’s dangerously disconnected.

HAPPY WORLD ART DAY! Art is our universal language, a mirror reflecting our humanity, and a living archive of our existence.

When we create, we preserve narratives that might otherwise fade into obscurity. We speak truths that move past time.

As the world increasingly recognizes and celebrates contemporary African art, we must remember that these voices and visions deserve equal prominence in galleries, equal dedication in archives, and equal investment in preservation.

Here’s to the artists-those who came before and those who create today-who allow us to see the world anew through their eyes.
