The factory floor at JB Furniture felt wonderfully different last week. Before the morning hum of the machinery began, the space was filled with the excited chatter of students from our local schools.
We opened our doors to let them experience the daily rhythm of our workspace. Walking through the aisles, the students felt the rough grain of raw timber and breathed in the deep, earthy scent of freshly cut wood. Watching them trace the lines of a partially finished frame reminded us of the specific magic inherent in creating something intended to be gathered around and loved in a home.
They watched raw materials slowly take shape under careful hands, experiencing the quiet dedication required to build quality furniture.
Our hope for these visits is straightforward. We want to reignite the wonder of timber in the hearts of the next generation. Ensuring a healthy, vibrant industry for years to come begins by sharing the passion we hold for this craft today. Seeing their eyes widen as planks transformed into recognizable shapes was an incredibly rewarding experience for our entire team.
