Every week we have a site meeting in this beautiful home which we completed last year, as we are busy with the house across the road. I love sitting at the dining table and staring at this gorgeous kitchen. It’s full of texture and detail and the quirky handmade terracotta pots as lights and Wiid cork barstools add the jazz. It’s always special to get to appreciate our designs once we have completed the projects we spend so long entangled in!

A Home rooted in it’s setting- House A, Gondwana Game Reseve.

At the heart of our Game Lodge Project is this spectacular double-volume living space- bringing together the kitchen, dining, living and communal areas for a very special family.
The cathedral-like volume celebrates the incredible surrounding views, creating a feeling of openness and grandeur while still feeling warm, intimate and inviting. Natural stone, warm timber and carefully considered detailing ground the space and connect it beautifully to its landscape.
The kitchen forms the architectural anchor, nestled beneath a dramatic stone wall and slatted timber privacy screen at the top of the staircase. Beyond it, the Primary bedroom, bathroom and private study occupy the upper level, while the family’s guest suites and the gym are thoughtfully constructed throughout the rest of the property.
A bespoke wine cellar tucked into the entrance passage adds another layer of character- a beautiful feature to discover as you move into the central spine of the home.

It’s always good to see life in colour…on our recent trip to Greece, I couldn’t resist photographing the colourful front doors. From faded blues and soft greens to bold reds, luminous pink and sunny yellows, each one had its own character and added so much charm to the streets. It’s all coming together at our home lodge project in Gondwana Game Reserve! 🦒🐆🦓🐅🦛🦏

The joinery is being fitted, lighting is being fine-tuned, finishes are being installed and the gardens are looking absolutely magnificent. Every detail is starting to fall into place, bringing the vision to life.
And one of the greatest privileges of all? The elephants strolling past every day, reminding us just how special this place is. 🐘🐘🐘

There is so much to love about this project, and we can’t wait to see it completed. 💛💛💛
