It’s Spring in South Africa 🌹🎉🌸 Just took this gorgeous plate out the kiln and I am so delighted with how the colours popped! Scroll to see what the underglaze painting looked like before being glaze fired! With this plate I tried something new… it’s a mix of coloured slip, engraving & textured clay and the photo just doesn’t do the details justice! 34x22cm Stoneware, Available. DM for info 🌹

We recently had a lovely little family beach break in Elandsbaai, up the West Coast. My eldest son, Jesse, has been using his new camera and finally, as a mom, I feature in our photos too! I decided to encourage his skills, by painting this pic he took of us while soaking up some sun. 8 year old Jedi is ready to go back into the ocean with his bodyboard after a little snack break. He usually surfs first, then switches to bodyboarding. Don can be seen applying more sunblock as I am keeping my eye on my 13 year old Eli that is still surfing. My favourite part of this photo is the umbrella- Don got this one day on a scorcher in December from our local OK Grocer - which miraculously matches our little beach chairs. When I look at this, it takes me back to the sound of waves, happy kids, warm sand between my toes and the smell of tanning oil… and it fills my heart with so much joy.
