Tribe of Asher

255 x 295 x 40 Oil on Deep Edge Canvas

Available as part of the collection: Tribes of Yisrael

Asher was the 8th son of Jacob by Zilpah, the maidservant of Leah.

Asher's name means "happy" or "blessed".

When Jacob blessed Asher he said:

Gen 49:20 Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties.

Later Moses blessed Asher, saying he would be favored by his brothers and dip his foot in oil, a symbol of prosperity.

Deu 33:24 And of Asher he said, Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil. 25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be. 26 There is none like unto the El of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky. 27 The Elohim of old is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. 28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew. 29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by YHWH, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

The Tribe of Asher were known for their prosperity, particularly in the fertile, northwestern region of Israel near the Mediterranean coast, which was known for producing rich food, olive oil, and for having maritime trade and shipbuilding skills.

Some of Asher's Tribe were part of Gideon's army. Jud 6:35, Jud 7:23

The tribe is mentioned in the New Testament through Anna, the Prophetess, who recognized baby Yahshua in the temple. Luke 2:38

Tribe of GAD

255 x 295 x 40 Oil on Deep Edge Canvas

Available as part of the collection: Tribes of Yisrael

Gad was the 7th son of Jacob by Zilpah, the handmaiden of Leah. The tribe of Gad was renowned for its military capabilities. In the time of King David, warriors from Gad joined him at his stronghold in the wilderness, described as "mighty men of valor, men trained for battle, who could handle shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and who were as swift as gazelles on the mountains" (1 Chronicles 12:8). This reputation for bravery and skill in battle was a defining characteristic of the tribe throughout Israel's history.

Gen 49:19 RNKJV Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last.

Deu 33:20 And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.

21 And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the lawgiver, was he seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of YHWH, and his judgments with Israel.

The tribe of Gad, like the other tribes, experienced periods of faithfulness and apostasy. Their location in the Transjordan made them vulnerable to external influences and conflicts with neighboring peoples. Despite these challenges, the tribe's legacy is preserved in the biblical narrative as part of the collective history of the people of Israel.

In summary, the tribe of Gad holds a distinct place in the biblical account, marked by its early settlement decisions, participation in the covenant ceremony on Mount Ebal, and its enduring reputation as a tribe of warriors. The tribe's account is interwoven with the broader narrative of Israel's journey and relationship with God

Deuteronomy 27:13
And these shall stand on mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali

Naphtali was the sixth son of Jacob by Bilhah, the handmaid of Rachel. His name means wrestling. It is said that Naphtali was more swift and light footed than all of the deer of the desert.

Since I was swift like a dear, my father, Jacob,  appointmented me for all missions and messages, and as a deer he blessed me. - Testament of Naphtali 2:1

Gen 49:21 RNKJV Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.

When Jacob died and all the Tribes went up to Canaan to bury him, Esau tried to prevent them by telling a lie; saying the burial sight didn't belong to Jacob. Joseph send Naphtali to run to Egypt to fetch the records to proof Jacob bought the  land from Esau - Book of Jasher 56:50-60

For just like a potter knows the pot, how much it holds, and brings clay for it accordingly, so also YHWH forms the body in correspondence to the spirit, and instills the spirit corresponding to the power of the body - Testament of Naphtali 2:2

This is a very significant spiritual insight coming from Naphtali himself about how each of us are made uniquely for the purpose of YHWH's Kingdom.

Matt 25:14  For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.15  And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

Tribe of Shimeon

365 x 255 x 40 Oil on Deep Edge Canvas

Available as part of the Collection: 12 Tribes of Yisrael

The sword of righteousness is the symbol of the Tribe of Shimeon, for when Shimeon's sister Dinah was defiled by Shechem, Shimeon and his brothers, with the help of YHWH, slayed the inhabitants of the whole city of Shechem as well as the inhabitants of all the Canaanite cities that came up to assist Shechem.
Shimeon was also known to have a powerful voice with which he disarmed his enemies.
Likewise when Mashiyach returns to execute judgement against those who harm His Bride, He will use His voice as a sword of righteousness.

Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of YHWH. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of El-Shaddai.

Deu 4:24 For YHWH thy Elohim is a consuming fire, even a jealous El.

Breastplate of the High Priest with Urim and Thummim

*While doing this precious painting, some Scriptures kept coming to mind and I gleaned so much Spiritual food from this painting.

*Our Messiah is our High Priest that will reign in the new Millennium Temple. Just like the stones in His Breastplate were formed under great pressure and power, then carefully selected, polished and set in gold refined by fire; so are we.

*We are Jewels in His Breastplate, formed under pressure and hardship, carefully selected, polished and set in gold refined by fire. We are worn on His Heart as He go before YHWH into the Most Holy of Holies. Bringing the hearts of the children of Yisrael to the Heart of our Heavenly Father. Immensely precious!

It took 14 years of research, to be confident enough to paint the correct version and order of the 12 stones.

1st row, right to left: Sardius, Golden Yellow Topaz, Carbuncle

2nd row, right to left: Emerald, Sapphire, Corundum(White Sapphire)

3rd row, right to left: Chalcedony, Fire Agate, Amethyst

4th row, right to left: Chrysolite, Chrysoprase, Red Jasper.

When YHWH gave Moshé instructions on the Tabernacle and Priestly garments, HE appointed Bezaleel from the Tribe of Yahudah and Aholiab from the Tribe of Dan. Doing this painting was like tying the Scriptures to my heart and since I'm from the Tribe of Dan, painting it was like coming home - such an honour!

[Ex 28:29-30, Isa 59:16-21, Isa 54:11-17, Ex 31:1-11, Ex 36:1-2, Ex 35:30-35, Ex38:22-23]

Tribe of Dan

Dan was the 5th son of Jacob by Bilhah. In Hebrew, the name Dan means judge. One of the well known judges of Yisrael; Samson, came from the Tribe of Dan.

When Moses were on Mount Sinai, where he received the instructions to build the Tabernacle, he was shown the pattern of the Tabernacle in Heaven with the 4 Creatures; Ox, Man, Lion, Eagle, around the Throne of Elohim. He was instructed to build the Tabernacle with it's desert encampment like the pattern he was shown.

The Tribe of Dan was the head of the Northern 3 tribes; the side of the Eagle - therefore the Eagle became the standard for the Tribe of Dan.

When the Almighty YHWH gave Moses instructions on the Tabernacle and Priestly garments, HE appointed Bezaleel from the Tribe of Judah and Aholiab from the Tribe of Dan and bestowed them with wisdom to make all the things HE commanded Moses.

Judah was born right before Dan and they would have grown up together.

In king Solomon's time, king Hiram of Tyre sent him a very talented, multi skilled craftsman by the name of Huram-abi, whose mother was from the Tribe of Dan, to help build the Temple.

Gen 49:16-18 ATM-YH 16 Dan shall provide justice for his people as one of the tribes of Israel. 17 He will be a snake by the road, a viper in the path that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider tumbles backward. 18 I await Your salvation, God.

Jer 51:19-21 ATM-YH 19 The Portion of Jacob is not like these, for He is the Maker of all things, including the tribe of His inheritance— Yahweh is His name. 20 “You are My war club, My weapon for battle. With you I shatter nations; with you I bring kingdoms to ruin. 21 With you I shatter the horse and rider; with you I shatter the chariot and driver.

Lion of Judah

In the Bible, the "Lion of the Tribe of Judah" is a title for Yahshua HaMashiyach , signifying his royal lineage from the tribe of Judah and his role as the victorious, conquering King and Messiah. This title originates from Jacob's prophecy in Genesis 49, which described the tribe of Judah as a lion's cub that would become a mighty ruler, and is explicitly used to refer to Yahshua in the Biblical book of Revelation.

Judah's character in the Bible shows significant development from moral failure to redemption, moving from suggesting Joseph's sale into slavery to offering himself as a substitute for Benjamin, demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and sacrifice. In a pivotal moment, when the brothers returned to Egypt, Judah's character transformed into one of profound self-sacrifice. He offered himself as a substitute for his younger brother Benjamin, demonstrating deep compassion and a willingness to take responsibility. He was known for a period of wickedness and a subsequent submission to YAH'S will, which led to YAH granting his lineage perpetual leadership, making the tribe of Judah the most prestigious and the ancestral home of King David and the Messiah.

King David, and later the Messiah, both came from the lineage of Judah, making his story a significant example of redemption and YAH'S plan for leadership and lineage.

Rev 5:5 And one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. See, the Lion of the tribe of Yehuḏah, the Root of Dawiḏ, overcame to open the scroll and to loosen its seven seals.”

An Artist's Journey of Faith and Rebirth
From a very young age, Yaffa's life was intertwined with a paintbrush. She began her artistic journey with watercolors, progressed to acrylics in high school, and eventually realized her dream of painting with oils in her late thirties. After three years, however, life's challenges led her to set aside her passion entirely, and she stopped painting for a decade.

In 2021, her path took a dramatic and life-changing turn. At a service station, her car caught fire, and she was saved from the flames by the grace of the Most High. This miraculous event inspired her to start a health and beauty company with the proceeds from selling the car’s remains, a business she founded in honor of her Heavenly Father.

Her artistic calling was reignited in 2024 when her friend, Beatrix, encouraged her to paint again. With 12 canvases and a set of oil paints, Yaffa was profoundly inspired to create a series on the 12 Tribes of Yisrael. Through this deeply spiritual journey, she gleaned wisdom and grew with every brushstroke. Now, Yaffa is inspired to paint only biblical subjects, dedicating her art to honor her Creator-King. Join her as she continues this powerful new journey.
