Project Update | Stonehurst Mountain Estate | Cape Town

A glimpse into one of our latest renovation projects in Stonehurst Estate, Cape Town — where contemporary architecture meets relaxed indoor-outdoor living.

With clean architectural lines, expansive glazing, warm timber detailing and carefully considered outdoor spaces, the design is centred around creating a home that feels both sophisticated and connected to its surroundings.

From the generous entertainment areas and pool courtyard to the open-plan kitchen and sheltered terraces, every space has been designed with light, views and everyday living in mind.

✨ A modern Cape Town home designed for living, entertaining and making the most of its setting.

A glimpse behind the scenes at our Meadowridge renovation in the Southern Suburbs.

The structure is taking shape, with the new roof structure now in place and the existing spaces being opened up to create a more connected, functional home.

At this stage, the project is all about structure, proportion and spatial flow — the less glamorous part of a renovation, but the stage where the biggest changes start to become visible.

We love seeing the original house gradually transform as the architectural design moves from drawings into reality.

From an idea to a home that works beautifully.

At Lubbe Architects, we design homes that are tailored to the people who live in them—and we stay involved throughout the building journey.

Whether you're planning a renovation, extension, or a new home in Meadowridge, Noordhoek, Constantia, Tokai, Bergvliet, or the Southern Suburbs, we'd love to help bring your vision to life.

A lot can happen in a few weeks. 🏗️

Our Meadowridge project is moving at full speed, and the house is already starting to reveal its new proportions.

There’s something particularly satisfying about this stage of a renovation — when the old is still visible, but the new is beginning to take over.

New roof structure.
A completely different way of experiencing the home.

And we’re only getting started.

From existing structure to a completely reimagined home. 🏗️

Things are moving fast on site in Meadowridge, and this project has reached one of those satisfying stages where you can suddenly see the scale of what’s happening.

The new roof structure is up, spaces are being opened up, and the existing house is well on its way to becoming something entirely different.

Renovations like this are never simple but we have the experience to lead the way.
They’re about asking: How could this home work better for the people living in it?

This is exactly the kind of question we love solving.

For Daniella Lubbe, designing in Noordhoek is a constant source of inspiration.

From the mountains and indigenous landscapes to the ever-changing coastline and natural light, our surroundings influence every project we undertake.

At Lubbe Architects, we believe good design belongs to its environment.
Every home is carefully considered to respond to its site, creating spaces that feel connected, timeless, and effortless to live in.

Based in Noordhoek, we are proud to design homes throughout the Southern Peninsula and beyond—creating architecture that celebrates both the people who live in it and the landscape that surrounds it.
