A set of six retro chairs in chromed steel with high backs, seen here around the glass-top table. The upholstery has been recently redone and is in good condition, with just one small 1cm tear on one of the backs. The frames remain super sturdy.
Dimensions: 44 x 46 x 107 cm (h), with a seat height of 47.5 cm.

Boardroom chic: a tulip style table with a thick glass top and a polished chrome base paired with box swivel chairs that carry real gravitas. Five chairs are available, with two upholstered in a grey chevron weave, two in dusky rose and one in a charcoal weave. Available now at Huisraad Modern.

Four (or actually five) pretty, restored vintage shelves.

1. A solid saligna wood pigeonhole cabinet or document organiser from a 1950's or 1960's office, now perfect to repurpose as shoe rack, display cabinet or storage.  

Dimensions: 82 x 41 x 82 cm (h)

2. A vintage mid-century open bookcase with a clean six-compartment split-tier design. Use it agains a wall or as a room divider.

Dimensions: 122 x 22 x 91 cm (h)

3. A vintage solid wood open bookshelf featuring four fixed shelves and a decorative arched top. This is a pretty arts and crafts piece, made with traditional craftsmanship of the early 20th century. 

Dimensions: 93 x 17 x 120 cm (h)

4. Two single bed headboards with a shelf, made by Bakker in Steyger in the mid 20th century. Side by side they can be used for a king bed.

This vintage haberdashery and shop display cabinet from the first half otlf the 20th century holds thirty cascading drawer with solid oak fronts, fitted with vintage cup handles. One handle differs slightly from the rest, a small trace of the piece's working life. The top, sides, and upper back panel are glass, giving a full view through to the drawers.

The cabinet carries its original "Cole & Clarke (Pty.) Ltd, Shopfitters, Durban & Johannesburg" maker's plate.

The piece has been sanded and varnished and is in very good vintage condition. The glass on top carries visible wear from many years of service, and the back panel has a cut-out that once accommodated an electrical wall plug panel.
