Each Karoo Klip Dish begins with something rather unusual — a rock.

The clay is shaped over individual rocks, allowing their natural contours to form the dish. The little legs are then added by hand before each piece is glazed and fired.

The result? No two Karoo Klip dishes are exactly the same.

Available in X-Small, Small, Medium & Large, from little ring and snack dishes to generous serving platters.

Not everything goes according to plan in the world of ceramics…

Our kiln decided to throw us a little curveball, and unfortunately, we had a kiln malfunction that meant some of our pieces didn’t turn out quite the way we hoped.

It’s one of those behind-the-scenes moments you don’t always see, but it’s very much part of the handmade process. Every piece is a little experiment, and sometimes the kiln has other plans!

The good news? We’ve learnt from it, we’re making adjustments, and we’re already getting back to creating the beautiful pieces you know and love.

Handmade isn’t always perfect. That’s part of the magic.
