Ilovani is passionate about sustainability; using timber from accredited sources ; implementing recovery programs – creating accessories from wood ‘off-cuts’ and utilizing redundant ‘wine barrel oak’ in functional designs. We create handcrafted furniture and homeware from recycled wine barrels, giving new life to beautifully aged oak once used in South African wineries. Each piece carries the warmth and character of the barrel’s history, with natural wine stains and rich textures that make every creation one-of-a-kind. Our collection includes tables, swing chairs, loveseats, and décor items — all locally made and designed with sustainability and craftsmanship at heart. By choosing our furniture, you’re not only investing in timeless design but also helping reduce waste and support local artisans. Each piece is individually hand crafted, inspired by the distinctive character of the carefully chosen local timber, selected for its character. The result is an organic fusion of natural elements and metal which has become Ilovani’s trademark. Interesting alternatives to the indigenous wood creations are the furniture items crafted from recovered Wine Barrels.
